At work, there is a huge gym available for all employees.. for FREE!
It's amazing.. all cardio machines, body building machines, etc... it's 2 minutes away from my office by car.. the thing is that I wake up really early at 6:15am everyday and finish work at 3:30pm with 30min lunch break.

After the day at work is done.. I am DEAD.. literally I cant wait to get back home and do NOTHING. It's been times where I take all gym items, clothes, shoes, etc, and then turn around to come home.. I havent gone there to exercise, but want to BADLY bec it will help me lose weight faster.

How can I motivate myself? I feel very tired after work..! I always sleep between 10pm-12am sometimes 1pm (rare)

HELP!

the main thing that keeps me motivated is having someone else go with me ... and remind me that i 'have' to go to it ...

once i get into the routine i won't have as much of a problem ... on my second week now ...

Only you can motivate yourself.. No one can drag you by the ear and make you go..

List your excuses for not wanting to go..

List the benefits you'd get for going...

Which list is better..

There are things I do in my life I do(as we all), not because I'm "motivated" to do them, but because I must do them. I choose to do them. After a while motivation always leaves a person. From this point on, it is simply a matter of what you choose to do or choose not to do.
Some times, we must act without motivation to reach our goals.

In any case, sitting at home wanting to go to the gym, but not acting, is where you will NOT find "motivation". Just do it.

Two of my all time favorite quotes by Mark Twain and Aristotle and they go;

Duties are not performed for duty's sake, but because their neglect would make the man uncomfortable. A man performs but one duty --the duty of contenting his spirit, the duty of making himself agreeable to himself.
Mark Twain

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.
Aristotle

Can you go early? It can be a pain for people to get up a bit earlier but I find if I do some solid exercise and weight lifting in the morning my energy for the day is off the charts.

It also boosts your metabolism going into the day. From my experience very amazing...especially to a near 270lb guy that was really starting to get slow and lazy.

Ok, I completely understand.

This is what you do.

You spend one week taking your gym clothes to work. That's it. Go home. Don't go home. Whatever. EVERY DAY.

Second week -- you actually go to the building where the gym is located. You don't have to change clothes. You don't have to work out. Just get yourself to the building. To the parking lot if you can't manage the building. Hang out for 15 minutes. EVERY DAY.

Third week -- walk INSIDE the building. Stay 15 minutes. Work out. Don't. Whatever. Just do it EVERY DAY.

Fourth week -- change into your clothes. Hang out. Work out. Or don't. Just do it EVERY DAY.

By the fifth week, your mind will be so used GOING to the building and hanging out there, that to actually start working out will be a breeze. And once you work out, hopefully you'll find that you get MORE energy than before.

And THAT will become your motivation.

P.S. I'm the same way. It's really easy to come up with reasons not to go. I tell myself that I must go to the gym. I don't have to work out. But I have to go. So, I do. And then, since I *know* I have pay $2 for parking (for 3 hours) I decide I might as well just stay and work out.

Try it. Let me know if it works. It's the one thing that gets me there. I made it into a habit and part of my life (like brushing my teeth or going to work). (although I stopped and I'm now doing it again)

Ha ha ha ha ha!

Oh damn, English grammar!!!!!!

Okay, I lied. I am still brushing my teeth. Except, I got the electric one, so... technically, something else is doing all the work!!!

ha ha ha ha!
