Final

I just recently returned from a week of vacation, and just remembered about this challenge :) Well, I've been pretty consistent with this challenge, so I'm very happy with how this went. GT, thanx for accepting, I'm glad someone had the guts to verse me ;) I will definitely keep at it since I still have a high body fat %. Anyway here are my final stats:

August 11(final!)
Height: 5'11
Weight: 205 (Lost a total of 7 lbs in 8 weeks) <- I'm satisfied :D
Body fat % ~ 23%

Forgot to ask, GT, did you monitor any stats such as body fat % or weight? Just curious to see if any numbers went down for you? Hope it was a motivational experience for you :)

The only thing I monitored was bodyweight. I started at 240.5 and was 233 this morning. Not a huge loss, but a step towards my goals. I am now much more consistent with my workouts and my eating has improved vastly. Your idea of the challenge helped me stay more focused than I would have been. I appreciate it.

Thanks for the challenge. As I see it, we are both winners as we both came out ahead. Good job. Keep up the good work!!!

I hate to sound like a broken record, but its been a while since this challenge, and I've kind of fallen off the wagon. I believe its about time I do more than I say, so I will move forward and continue my fat loss program.

Hi guys. Just came across your thread. I've been poking around the fitness.com site for a number of months but typically the summers are pretty busy or me so just took a quick look and then moved on. I'm a triathlon and health coach and stay pretty busy in the summers connecting with clients. Fall is much quieter though.

I've read thru your whole thread and you don't address something that I know will help you dramatically. Not sure if you would be interested but have you ever thought about cellular cleansing. Fat loss is a multifaceted issue. Most people only ever address the calories in (what you eat) and calories out (training) aspect. However, a third (and from a health aspect a VERY important one) is the issue of toxin storage. Your body stores impurities that it filters out of your system (kidneys, liver, lymphatics, colon, blood) in fat and excess water, but mainly fat, to get them out of circulation in your body. If it dodn't your body would shut down pretty quickly. If you don't address the pesticides, heavy metals, and the myriad of other chemicals that are floating around in there then you're going to have a lot harder time releasing fat. Everything you eat, drink, breath and put on your skin absorbs into your body, good and bad. Don't think it's not an issue. As you've found out. You've both done well working out and watching what you eat but the results just weren't there.

The majority of my clients cleanse their bodies and when they do they feel amazing and if they have fat to lose they release/burn it up very quickly. Once you cleanse your body it doesn't have to panic about the toxins it will release into your body if you burn up the fat. So if you don't cleanse the body holds onto that fat for all it's worth.

I'm not talking about a colon cleanse so don't freak out. Cellular cleansing thru new technology. I've been 5-7% body fat my entire adult life so wouldn't ever do this cleanse to release fat, but a LOT of my clients come to me for that very reason. I'm just telling you this because I see your frustration and know from how happy others are with the health (and fat loss benefits). If this had you lose fat but it wasn't healthy I wouldn't mention it; not worth the risk. I don't anticipate that everyone is going to be keen on it. I know it works because that's what I do for a living and have helped thousands of people directly and indirectly be very successful with this. It isn't a diet or weight loss plan though. Weight loss if you have it to lose is just an unfortunate side effect. You will get stronger, improve your performance, build lean muscle mass, release fat (if you have it, and it sounds like you still do), get more energy and feel mentally sharper. Best system I've ever found in almost 20 years of coaching which is why I'm ok with telling you about it. Of course you'll have some Qs and I'm happy to answer them if you care. If not no worries. I live/work to help people reach their goals and it's tough to watch you get frustrated with your challenges. Enjoy the day.

Hi Aiming4165. I got your message, but I cannot reply to private messages umtil I have been a member for more than 5 days, which will be in a couple of days.

Anyhow I will respond then, and give you all the advice and tips that I can. :)

Lee.

OK aim, you better get back on the ball!!! I just weighed in at 226.9 lbs so I'm down another 6 since the contest. I'm training consistently and my diet has improved drastically. There's a gym at work and I hit it about 3x/wk. I'm incorporating another night or two on the stationary bike at home as long as its quiet around the house. All is going well. Jump back on the wagon and let me know how things go.

Did you ever try the workout I designed for you?

If you want, we can pick up where we left off for another month, now until November 1st. Set goals for November 1st and go from there. Give me your thoughts and we'll get it rolling if you're in. That would give us 31 days until we weigh in again. So, let's get in on!!!

Just FYI, I'll go ahead and set my goal at 212 pounds by November 1st for a steady 3 lb/wk loss give or take a bit. If you're in, we'll start a new thread, maybe GT vs. AIM revisited

HI there young man. (First time I've ever said that in my 27 years of life).

The fact that you are very seroius about loosing weight and even show pictures of yourself before the hard work begins shows is a very positive step.

You quite clearly have immense desire and ambition, and you are at the perfect age to start your healthy lifetyle. Not that any age is a bad age, it's just you are at the years where your conditioning is an open book.

From what I have read you are makign steps everyday. Keep going pal! Just imagine the day you wake up exactly where you want to be. :)

Leeg, I'm the old man, 39. Aim in the young feller with awesome potential. I've just got to stay consistent and get this extra fat off my body while maintaining my muscle mass. I've done it before but just didn't have this much to lose. Basically 35 more pounds and I'll be done. Hopefully by the new year. We'll see!

I weighed 218 even today. I'll post pics in about another week. Whenever I get to 215 lbs. That is my halfway point in this journey. Take care all, Greg

What day do you wanna post pictures? Friday, Saturday, Monday? It doesn't make a difference to me. I should be right around 215. If we post on Monday I'll have a better shot at it. What do you think?

I weighed 215.7 this morning while wearing dress slacks, dress belt, underwear and socks. So, I figure if I eat clean today and complete my awesome cardio session tonight (90 minutes) :action8: then I can take pictures in the morning. I'll call it an even 215 for the books. I won't be able to post until tomorrow night when I get to my home computer. Hopefully you all can tell a big difference.

Aim, are you posting?

I actually took pics and compared them to the first ones, but there is a small difference. I don't want to post pics until there's a dramatic change so that its really noticeable, maybe in about a month or so?
