Grey Ghost Hunter's Diary

Weekends give everyone a lot of trouble. Unless you're a robot bodybuilder type.

What I've done personally is loosen up my strictness and calories a bit on the weekends. But it's still controlled for the most part. It's also accounted for in my total calories.

What I mean is, if I'm going to eat more calories during the weekends, I know I have to eat less calories during the weekdays so the net comes out the same.

I also make sure I eat high protein and high nutrient foods like meats and veggies 3+ times per day on the weekends. This helps keep the junk and binging at bay.

Well I survived the weekend. I was able to keep my weight at the same level as it was on Friday, 185. I kept myself pretty busy through the weekend to help keep myself on track.

Today I am going to start the c25k program. Even thou I have already been running for the past couple of months, I decided to give it a try and maybe even enter a 5k by the time I get to the end of the program.

Just finished running my first leg of the c25k. Total approx. distance 2.1 miles. Once I was done I learned an important lesson. Never run after eating fried rice with soy sauce. Ugh, I feel like a balloon with all that sodium. It was kind cool running after the sun has set, but dangerous. I don't think I'll be doing that again. I have decided to get up at 5:00 a.m. and run then. Hell the dog is got me up at that time anyways, I might as well stay up and do something eh.

TOTAL MILES: 2.1

Got up at 5:00 a.m. and went for my run this morning. Boy that took me back to the Army days. Running in the morning was awsome.

Kinda on the same Army subject:

Last night I was putting away the winter closes and gettin out the summer closes when I came across my old unit PT shirts. These are shirts that would be made specificly for that unit. Anyways I couldn't resist, I had to see if I could get back into them so one by one I tried each on. Out of the three shirts, one shirt fit perfectly, one shirt was very close to fitting, and the third is still just a little tight. So now I have decided to add a mini goal of being able to fit back into all three shirts.

TOTAL C25K MILES: 4.2

Didn't go to work today due to the fact that my little sister come to visit, so I didn't get up as early to go run. I completed my first week of the c25k. Felt pretty good. So I'm going to move on to week 2 next week.

Last night as I was visiting my sister she made the comment that I looked like I lost a lot of weight and that I looked good. That made my day, she is the first person that I haven't seen since before I started that has noticed my loss.

TOTAL C25K MILES: 6.3

Started Week 2 of the c25k.

One thing that I have learned is I don't like to run only 3 days a week. Before today the last time I ran was on Friday. Waiting until Monday to run again was like waiting for eternity. I think I'm going to add a day or 2 to the running. Not going to change the program just add days.

TOTAL C25K MILES: 8.5

you could also crosstrain; bike, swim, yoga, elliptical, etc...

I had the same problem on C25K, but once you get to the middle/end you will need the break from running.

Could do that. I think I own a bike even. Thats that thing that has 2 wheels and collects dust in the garage isn't it? :smilielol5: Wonder how far I could go in a half hour. May have to give it a try tomorrow morning.

Well I broke out the bike this morning and did a 7 mile ride. About 3/4 the way into the ride I was telling myself that I didn't feel like I was getting anything out of this (minus the 3 large hills). Well that all changed about the time I walked into the house after the ride. I think every muscle in my body was trying to kick my ass for going through all that. Now its 2 hours later and I can really feel it. My whole body is sore as all get out.

Oh I almost forgot (again).I forgot to post my weigh in yesterday. I weighed in at 184. Down one pound even with my sister visiting.

Thanks M.

Ok, so, here is the situation. I was talking to a couple of co-workers about the c25k program, and how I am following it even thou I have been running for about 2 months anyways. So they ask if I have signed up for a 5k or am planning on signing up for one. Well I told them no not yet and that it all depended on my schedule. After a few minutes of them talking I was talked into signing up for the Steamboat Classic in Peoria.

Now for the bad parts of all this. First off the race is not a 5K, it is a 4 mile race. Secondly, I am only in my second week of the C25K program and the race in 6 weeks.:eek2:

What in the hell have I done....:banghead:

Anyways I did cont. my c25k program training this morning

TOTAL C25K MILES: 10.7

Thanks M for the motivation. the C25K is the Couch potato to 5k run program. There is a thread dedicated to it in "The Club". There is also a web site: .

way to go buddy!!!! :) sounds like a pretty sweet club to be a part of! :):hurray:

So what is your favorite was to get your miles under your belt? treadmill, ellipical, etc?

Have a great day!! :)

I get up about 5 am and hit the road. I live out in the country so running out on the country road in the piece and quiet of true nature (besides the mp3 going) it got to be the best.

If you read some of my earlier posts you will see that I use to have an eliptical, until it crapped out on me, while I was on it at the time.

But, since then I have been running outdoors. Should of just started that way, it is soooo much better than stationary.

Started out my run this morning ahead of a storm that was making it's way across the midwest. It was also the start of week 3 of the c25k. Everything was going reat until I got almost 1.5 miles out when the rain started. About that time I realized I had run past the half way point in the podcast so I turned around and headed back. By the time the podcast was over I was still a half mile out so instead of walking the rest of the way I ran it. By the time I got back home I was soaked but felt pretty good even thou I ran further than planned.

TOTAL C25K MILES: 15.9

way to push through that rain boyeeee :):coolgleamA:
