Hello everyone,
Where to start....Well, my name is Joe and here's my story:
I used to be quite in shape, probably 15 years or so ago. My body fat was around 5-6% and I was fit. There was that one bad habit though. Smoking. I have been a smoker for 20 years. I started smoking when I was 16. 5 months ago, I said that the day after my 36th birthday, that 20 years was enough of the smoking and that I need to get back into shape. Well, tomorrow will be the day after my birthday.
I'm just not sure where to start. So I came to the 1st fitness forum that popped up on Google. So here I am.
I'm here to look for advice and where to start. I may ask some stupid, off the wall questions, so please bear with me.
1st off the wall question.....Is it possible to over work your heart while working out? A few years ago, I started working out again and according to the elipticle that I was on, my heart rate was sky high. Is that good for the heart just starting out?
I'm looking to increase my cardio 1st, then we'll go from there.
Thanks for listening to me ramble and any help you can provide me on my journey.
~Joe
