Greetings. At 308 pounds with high blood pressure for years, my cholesterol and glucose finally went bad. My doctor told me I would have to make some changes or go on a lot more meds.
So she sent me to a nutritionist. That was 7 months ago. Today I'm down 52 pounds, eating healthy foods, healthy portions, and doing both aerobic exercise and weight resistance ("strength training").
My cholesterol came in, my glocose came back in, and my blood pressure has dropped, I'm still on Blood pressure meds though. I'm hoping that as I lose the next 50 pounds we will be able to reduce the BP meds I'm taking.
I'm a Bow Flex user, I had an old one in the basement I wasn't using for years and dusted it off and have been using it for months now. Yesterday I received a new Bowflex Xtreme 2 SE and got it put together.
I'm really interested in talking healthy eating and exercise, particularly also looking to connect with other bowflex users but not willing to pay to do so over at the Bowflex web site.
By the way, I'm down 52 pounds and willing to discuss with anyone how i did it and continue to do it. And I'm always interested in learning more about eating healthy. The number of links here is a bit overwhelming, I'll have to poke around and try to figure out which boards I should be on.
You know, when I started, I needed to lose 108 pounds and I didn't believe I could ever do that. Today, I'm almost half way there. That alone is incredible and now, I can dare to almost believe that I could do it. And more importantly, keep it off. Change for life the way I think, the way I eat, the way I look at exercise.
