Greetings from PA!

Greetings -from Lancaster, PA
I registered here probably a year ago and I'm not sure I made an official introduction (I only visited briefly). I can't remember or can't find it if I did.

I've been 'hacking around' at the gym for about a year (3x week). My original goal when joining the fitness club, was to continue going....regularly...
So after a year, I just joined a different fitness membership with more amenities.

My only goal is to continue going regularly and learn more about how to get the most out of my work-outs. Primarily - I've been working on the weight lifting equipment attempting to 'tone-up'. And it must be working - as my muscles are harder, my cholesteroal dropped I think 20-30points, and I don't get muscle strains/pulls from work (I have a physical job). I wanna keep things interesting and keep the 'excitement' going.

Since my new gym membership started - I had a free session with a personal trainer. Boy - was I SORE after that!! Learned my body fat is 26% and I should work out doing different muscle groups each time and give 'em more time to recoop. I've been doing that. I can't say I can commit to a more serious fitness regimen and I can't commit to changing my diet habits either - although, I am trying to eat less overall. I'm 5'6", 145lbs and basically happy with my weight/size and wanna continue working out to prevent further weight gain, get healther and stay strong (toned) so MAYBE when I'm 70 - I'll be the envy of everyone else who's 70.

(laugh - is that too far fetched? - laugh)

I can't say I'll be actively posting here, as I don't know anything about fitness knowledge. So I'll just search & read and gain some motivation from everyone here!

Thanks!
I've visited the Crossfit site and find it very interesting although way over my head in terms of physical conditioning. Is there anything like that - daily exercise routine for those wimps like me? (laugh)

Welcome fellow pennsylvanian (south of Pittsburgh here). You have probably already found out that this forum has a wealth of information to be garnered. Alot of posting that after you read them, you say yeah so that what is going, or i always wondered about that. Also great comaraderie here as well. enjoy
