Does this stuff really work? I have a TON of green tea bags in my house, and they say it basically melts fat off (makes ur metabolism insanely fast). Should I start drinking this stuff?
I think that "the fat will melt off" is a major overstatement. My husband and I both drink a lot of green tea. It has tons of antioxidants and helps with digestion. I like hot tea at night anyway and I think I have just become addicted to drinking green tea. I don't eat after 5 p.m. and by around 8-9 I start to feeling like I could eat something, I fix a cup of green tea and it kills any cravings I am having.
Green tea is reasonably good for you and, like Harley said, has antioxidants and other such things that are generally "healthy," but the metabolic issue, in my understanding, generally rests on the caffeine aspect.
Oooh Hey guys I'm a newb but anyways I just wanted to ask since I just loove green tea.
Also, what brands do you guys use?
I heard that it is better to have brewed green tea opposed to bagged green tea. The ECBG is more potent in the brewed green tea or something. I also heard that it is best to have brewed green tea just when it is done brewing and isn't very effective when it cools down. So that kinda leaves me in a pickle. Unless I am going to drink about 4 cups of green tea in one sitting it wouldn't be worth brewing. Does anyone know anything about white tea? Also, what brands do you guys drink? I drink the Caff and decaf STASH green tea. (on rare special occasions i grab myself a arizona green ice tea, that stuff is addicting, let me tell ya...)
I tried the whole green tea thing -antioxidant --all that stuff did was gave me cotton mouf-lol lol it was tastey but i dont know about that whole burnin fat off of ya--good luck
Green Tea in supplemental form contains the same active antioxidant (EGCG) and is as effective as drinking green tea - though absorption may be a little slower while concentration is higher.
Does adding equal ruin the bennys? Cause i would love to know cause thats the only way i can drink it. I can force myself if its really that good for you.
I think there is good quality green tea out there somewhere. Its said to do everything for health but the mookwalk. I'm sure that there are some folks or companies who really do offer truly organic if not just natural as possible green tea. However, there is another side to it that is not talked about much or perhaps known. There are lots of green tea out there..they are not all just some wholesome dug out of the ground to our store steps. The url is an old article from 2000. While not the definitive, its also not that dated and we are nowhere out of the wood yet on this. If your're really into green tea or the like seek further info.
also see post at Diet/Nutrition section "Have you checked your Oranges" if further interest...(indirecly related).
Hey it contains caffeine so ofcourse it speeds the metabolism!
And speeding the metabolism helps when you want to burn fat....through exercise and better ways of eating.
So the package is telling the truth....in a creative way.
And ofcourse green tea is one of the best ways of ingesting caffeine.
