"Got milk? Overweight kids may need it" ...
The study states that 15% of US's young people or overweight ... double that of 2 decades ago. What do you think the cause is? TV, video games, diet, lack of physical activity?
My dad was actually giving me one of those "when I was a kid" stories. He said that whenever he wanted to hang out with his friends, that he would just go outside as they were always out playing on the street or in their yards. Now, many kids run to the computer (much as we are doing now) to 'hang-out' with their friends.
I definately don't believe this is the only reason. I don't like how schools are now not forcing kids to take physical education (gym class), but they WILL force them to take math. Now, many will argue that math is much more useful than P.E. ... now, this may be true, but I think P.E. will benefit the person 20x more than math in their daily lives. Many use the excuse that they just aren't good at it ... SO!?! that's why it's there. Not everyone is good at math, but you still have to take it.
