not really. some view peanut butter as a good source of protein but IMO a good source would be a complete protein.

the not eating after 7 deal is wrong. can you imagine all the ppl downing tons of ice cream, cake and cookies starting at 6:30pm, taking the last bite at 6:58pm and saying "whew i just made it. now all of this wont make me fat because i finished before 7pm"

:D

so what your saying is if i didnt get my calorie intake in before 7 its ok to eat after 7 to get all calories in. and whats IMO

IMO = in my opinion

i wasnt too clear in that post as i read it again, i'm sorry :(

eating after 7 is fine, in fact you should have a good prebed meal. john berardi has an article on his site called "bedtime story" thats a good read on the subject

many ppl do cottage cheese and natural peanut butter before bed as this will digest slowly. thats important because we wont be eating till the next morning. :)

I'm gonna chirp in here. Depends on what you eat. That's why abear said that mose of us eat cottage cheese or natural peanut butter before bed. Both are healthy and heavy foods. If you were to eat cake and soda before bed, it's all sugar and crap and over a prolonged period of time would probobly add on a few pounds.

Thats the key. Proteins are good before bed because they tend to be slower in absorbing into the body (minus whey protein, which is fast absorbing, making it so popular). Casein protein in cottage cheese is very slow absorbing, giving your body fuel to function throughout the night.

McCarley nailed it right there

"over a prolonged period of time" thats the key part. our bodies dont run on a 24 hour cycle, its days and days and days that influence things.

also remember you do burn calories when you sleep. :)
