Does anyone have any good self help, inspirational books to help through weight loss to inspire you,ie overcoming eating issues, comfort eating, over eating.

thanks

You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay. Love, love, love this book on so many levels. My version is combined with another very small book she wrote, called "Heal Your Body A-Z" which is very interesting at looking at possible emotional influences on illness. I found it fairly accurate in many ways. My DH writes her off as a total quack. LOL

I have also enjoyed:
The Success Principles - Jack Canfield
Wishcraft - Barbra Sher
7 Habits of Highly Successful People - S. Covey

While these aren't especially about weight loss, I have been so incredibly inspired by them to improve my life, that weight loss just fit right in with the whole positive thinking/planning philosophy! I am excited that you are looking into inspirational literature, because I feel that it has helped change my life!

I also recommend biographies of highly successful people or those you find personally inspiring. Every person has had obstacles to overcome.

Best wishes on your journey :driving:

Hi there,

You may also find a program by Devlin Steele very helpful for your Weight Loss inspiration called "Tools To Life" This is an interactive program.

Google it...and get underway

Yes, those are all great books! I enjoyed them, too.

Mal: I definitely see myself as a "glass half full" type of person, which my DH is most assuredly NOT. It's funny how opposites attract, n'est pas?:biggrinjester:

Not specifically inspirational per se, but I'm enjoying Tom Venuto's 'Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle'. Among other things, there is some good stuff in there about goal-setting and visualisation.

Is Venuto's boook an actual book, or one of those "buy it and read it online" things? I'd be interested in reading it; he is well respected.

I've just started reading "Master your Metabolism" by Jillian Michaels. While she may not be everyone's cup of tea, I love her "tell it like it is" style as that motivates me. In my weight loss program, and especially when I'm exercising, I get an "attitude" going that "I'm going to do this and you can't stop me". Her stuff feeds that well :D

Sounds very interesting (I'll be checking this guy out).

When losing weight we conciously focus on the fat part, but this dual action approach sounds MORE logical.

My personal circumstance, I lost the "fat" first and I'm now toning and building muscle.
