I am really looking for some guidence and to set a good plan to follow by should I see a dietitian.

There are some good ones in my area but is it worth it

I dont really know what they can tell me but i'll take anything at this point

read around the stickied threads on this forum you might find all the information that you are loooking for.

what are you hoping a nutritionist will do for you?

Give me a good goal weight
Tell me around how many calories I need a day
What foods will give me the best results

Just give me some straight guidence

all of that info can be found in this forum - sort of

there's no hard and fast rule as to exactly how many calories you need... you can use the formulas that will give you a range and you might have to adjust up or down accordingly

a goal weight is where you are comfortable - you shouldn't obsess over a specific number but more as to how you are feeling and what you see in the mirror...

there really are no magic foods, whole foods are better than processed foods, but you should eat what you enjoy...

this should be a life style change and not a "diet" which is generally short term -
