Hi,

I am 38, a mother to 4 wonderful almost grown children. I have struggled with my weight on and off most of my life. I get to my desired weight stay there a few years and then gain it all back. This last time, 4 yrs ago I was happy at a good weight then I quit smoking. In the first yr I had gained 30lbs and over the course of the next 3 yrs 20 more. I have made attempt after attempt to lose it, but this time I am gonna do it. I am recently seperated from my husband and when I look in the mirror I think who would want to date that, so for that reason, my self esteem and because I am not getting any younger and being this over weight is really bad for my health I am goning to do it. I am here looking for support and hopefully to be able to offer support. I look forward to getting to know some of you.

I know how you feel. I yo-yo'ed up and down (mostly up) for years. Finally when I hit 40 the Dr. Was going to put me on BP meds. Thats when I got serious. I have lost 75# since then and feel fantastic. At 44 I am in better shape than 24.

Once you get there keep a set of fat clothes and donate the rest. That way if you gain weight you have to either loose it or buy bigger clothes. Also find something you really like a couple sizes too small. When you get to the point it is too big you will feel like a million bucks!!!

If I can do it anybody can!

Good luck and keep it up.

Hi enoughalready,

Just dropping by to say hi.

You seems to be very interested of what PaulK is doing.

All the best of what you are doing.

No particular diet. I did read the hacker diet:

google "hacker diet" if the html is removed.

Mostly I cut back on fat dramatically. I don't count calories but I look at the labels when I shop and cut out cheese, mayo, other fatty sauces, etc., traded turkey and buffalo for beef. Baked chips for fried. Then I worked on portion control, measure out chips, etc. instead of eating from the bag. I also kept increasing my cardio and weight training.

You have to find something you can live with

Good Luck!
