Hello, I am another new guy. I am ready to get back on track. I have let myself go. I played sports while growing up and I played football in college. I have not done anything active for almost a year. I am about 6 ft. 2.5 in. tall and weigh about 240 lbs. I would guess that I am around 30% body fat. I don't want to be another fat american. You only get one life and one body and it is about time I get back to a healthy lifestyle. I am just looking for support, I need a place to go that will help motivate me when I slack off.

Welcome. You will find a bunch of support here. Congratulations on deciding on a new life for you!

Welcome to the Community! Be sure to look around and don't be afraid to ask questions. Good Luck with your progress, you can do it!

Hit the gym, restrict your calories to a reasonable deficit and maintain proper nutrition within the calorie restriction regimen and you'll be on your way!

What type of program/diet are you going to partake in?

Program and Diet

I am going to base my work out program on one of the books that I have. It is basically a six day routine that has 30 - 60 mins. of cardio one day and then a full body workout the next day. I am really not going to change my diet until I have gotten through the first couple weeks of training. I eat pretty good, I just have a desk job and do not do any physical activity anymore. But that is all going to change starting today.

Well that's good, but just remember that for weight loss diet is 80% of the battle. And also full body workouts arent ideal for gaining muscle.
