God damn it! Why do I always lose it?!

Hey guys, been working out about 2 months now. At the begining things were going great, within the first week, people told me my face looked a bit skinnier, my back was getting more defined, arms getting bigger, stomach going in etc...

And when I finally began to see results I like I said to myself "this should be my modivation" but ofcourse with like 80 percent of the people who try to start a new diet and workout regimine, they lose modivation and everything goes to hell.

I have so many great sources of fat loss that are available, some payed for, some over the internet. I know these things work great, but my modivation for things die so fast. Same with guitar. lol I use to play for hours a day, now picking it up feels like a chore. Same with working out. Its killing me. I have alot of fat to lose or atleast it feels like. Im 195 about 5 '11/12. It actually doesnt so bad over the forum, but I guess the way my body is proportioned, I dont look that great.

Unfortunatly I was cursed with the sad condition of gynecomastia. Its basically a fat build up in the chest that makes you have manboobs. It sucks! But im getting an operation to correct that.

But anyways yeah, I just constantly lose modivation. I could care less about weight loss, Im trying for fatloss. Nobody wants to be a skinny fat person. So I guess it takes ALOT longer.

If your curious, Ive read Tom Venutos book, 3 times (burn the fat feed the muscle) and I ordered the program called Metabolic Surge. Its a great program, geared more towards RAPID fatloss though. So it can be very restricting and hard to follow. Also have the power 90 program.(no thanx lol) And lately ive been on a hell of a rollcoaster. Sometimes I wanna go on a pure cardio plan, pure weight lighting plan, just pure nutrition plan etc...so I basically have no planning skills either:(

Can someone please shed some light on me. I hate being fat:p

Losing weight is all about what you eat, cardio & lifting only supplement. Have you looked into nolvadex or liquidex for your gyno? How old are you?

Im on the gyno forum and some people have some success with those products. But im lookjing to care of it once and for all with surgery.

Motivation has to come from within. Within yourself you know what you want, and you know how to get it. Mind over matter, my friend. Give your mind the power to control your body. don't eat crap, go workout, these kinds of things.

The only other thing I can tell you is to try to find small ways to change your life in matters of nutrition and exercise. If you like something you are more likely to stick with it. I make small changes myself (except for quitting smoking - that was BIG). I started exercising and limiting myself to one burger a week. Seems silly, but those tasty guys are loaded with crap! I think about how much time I am saving myself by not eating bad stuff. I started eating breakfast which I never really did before.

These are little things, but they make a big difference over time. Find little things you can do. Then find a few more.

Yeah, personally you need to want this. you need to be self motivated. I find that if you keep a diary it helps. Find a meal plan that suits you trying to eat about 6 small meals a day and workout 3-4 times a week. write down everything from your workouts. how many reps weight time everything. If you dont feel like working out one day just push yourself through it anyways. even if your lifting less than you normally can. do this for about 2 months then go back and read what you wrote down. you will be amazed at your progress.. I find the biggest motivation is friends I havent seen in a while coming up to me and there like Holy Sh!* what happened to you.... Set a goal. try to get to a certain point in 4 months. if you dont make it thats fine. most of us dont. But without goals, and without anything to work for you will lose motivation. I usually set my goals to get ready for ocean city every year. I bulk up from early july untill december, then I start cutting down for the next 6 months to get ripped out for the beach again. its silly, but it changes things up every 6 months I change everything I do completly and it keeps me going. Also change up exercises every couple weeks. somtimes you hit one that really feels good and see results quick, but then a few weeks later it seems to do nothing.

I know what you guys are saying and ive thought about this many times. I know that there is nothing you can possibly do to ever make me work. Like the saying goes you can bring a horse to water but cant make it drink. Same situation applies to me.

I guess I used this post as a vent. Im sure we all get to a point where we dont want to workout, but last night I guess I was just ultimately pissed about it. Im feeling alot better today. Today I emailed my "mentor" and he put me right back in place.

And yeah, the generic "Holy sh*t man! your looking good!" Always gives me an awesome boost in modivation and confidence.:D (sorry for the language mods:))

Id like to stay around here more often but Im not exactly qualified to give advice. Looks like almost every person here has some type of personal training certificate. Hehe..

But anyways thanks a ton for your help. I will report in and tell you how things are going:)

I certainly dont have a certificate.. I actually never used to care about how I looked or felt. I was always happy with myself and never sought to change my eating habits or anything else, but then one day I was bored and I have weight lifting equipment here so I started lifting, and then I decided that it was nice to be in better shape and be able to do things easier with less fatigue. so I stuck with it setting my goes and such. I have been lifting for a little over 2 years now and I am soo happy I stuck with it as long as I did. I have had a few of those moments where I just want to give up, but then I think back about the comments and just feeling better and it drives me

Being skinny and muscular come from the media, magazine, TV, basically anything that display people. This ideal image has only been around a few decades.

Hey remember this. From Ancient Greek, Medieval Times, and until mid 19 century Big people were IT. In ancient time the peasants were skinny. Think about it, they worked hard for little pay and hardly had any food to eat. Some didn't work at all. Being skinny was a sign of weakness and low social standing.

On the other hand being big was a sign strength. Kings and queens, noble people were big. It showed that they could feed themselves and their family. They did not starve like peasant.

Merchants were healthy but not skinny.

Knight or army men, were the only muscular men. Along with the farm owner, they ate good, like meat, milk, wheat, all the good stuff cuzz they ran the farm.

Take a look at ancient art the women they portray are not skinny. Skinny women were not desirable. It showed that they could have many children.
I used to like Lindsey Lohan when she was thick. Now shes all skinny. I had like a high school crush on her.

With this said I would always look at myself superior to a skinny person. If we fought for survival I would win. I we fought for the last woman on earth I will take him out.

You see. With this said, start to love your size. Choose your ideal image. Not one portrayed in the media. Then work at it. Read up in the forum. Make change suitable to your lifestyle. You'll need to find time in your life to meet your goal. Start slow and steady.

stick around - I'm not a personal trainer, just an ex-athlete (from decades ago) who gave up the cigs, gained weight and then got taken over by The Fitness Craze! I'm trying to get fit and stay fit for life.

Everyone has been down some road or another. I mostly hang out here to get and give support.
