Goal: 18% Body Fat

I know you hate to hear this because you feel you are on a medically supervised diet and are doing just fine, but you truly can lose the exact amount of weight if you ate more and to prevent common problems people face when they start eating a normal amount of calories again (they usually experience TONS of weight gain). I see you just want raw fruits and veggies, so how about adding more fruits? Or try my new shake, it is quite filling and very energizing: 1 cucumber, 1/2 pint cherry tomatoes, water in blender. What part of the city are you in? I live on the UWS.

Thanks for the recipe. I can actually have that.

I LOVE ACCUWEIGHT!! I have never felt so good in my life. Besides that I am one of those people that needs that military style eating plan. People that I know who finished this program haven't gained it back, even 6 years later. It's a 3-step plan, and I'm on the 1st. Also, this weight gain is recent from starting a business (stupid excuse i know)... not really from poor eating habits throughout my life. There is no other diet that will make fat melt away this quickly except maybe the Biggest Loser ranch!!

Luckily I live on the UES and the park is close.

This is a great book for people wanting to achieve optimum health, Dr. Fuhrman's Eat To Live:

Watch this vid:

I have not yet had any cravings and I am not hungry on this program. The reason may be that I am actually feeding my body sufficient nutrients so it's not ravenously craving unhealthy foods.

He says it better here:

On the accuweight program I have to have dairy. Once it's over I have made up my mind to be vegan. I already get in the veggies and fruits. In addtion will be able to add legumes, nuts, grains.. things I can't have right now. I may also cut out coffee. I haven't had a cup since the beginning of this program but this morning I woke up needing one.

What do vegans eat? Try eating only animal meat for a month and see how long you last. It's the veggies, grains, etc. that make it palatable.

I'm away on business for the next 2 weeks but will try to update my weight/measurements this week. I am happy to report that my fat lbs are 89.. ideally they should be around 20 lbs of fat for 18%.. progress is good however.

Hello 18%, I have been watching your diary for some time now. I get a kick out of it. :)

Hope you are well.

:seeya:

Starting Body Fat: 98 pounds
Current Body Fat: 86 pounds

I can't believe I started out with almost 100 (ONE HUNDRED!!!) pounds of fat attached to my skin and organs. When people say that they don't know how they "got this way", I truly understand. It's like the weight gain happened overnight.

At the rate I'm losing weight now, I should be under 200 any day now and out of the obesity range by August!

Thanks Running grl. I see you around the forums. Nice to have you here :)

P.S. we ALL lose our boobies!!!

****Remember BF is NOT BMI! Some people are getting them confused. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN ONLINE BODY FAT CALCULATOR. Here's the order of how to calculate body fat from most accurate to least:
1) Disection (of course that's not an option)
2) Hydrostatic Weighing (expensive, difficult to find)
3) Calipers, Skinfold Measurements (need experience, cannot test yourself)
4) Bioeletrical Impedance Analysis, BIA Scale like what I use (recent activity affects results but easy to control reliability)
5) Girth Measurements (not very accurate)

Oh Durrrr, wasn't paying attention.

Thanks. ;)

I guess if our bodies allow for it, anything is possible?
I am pretty stubborn sometimes, and although knowing that 120 is most likely too low for me it is my next goal, but I think I'd get a slap by mods on here, I've wailed enough as it is. And I KNOW it would be pushing it too far, I'd be back in the unhealthy range, but just the opposite way. Anyways, what I am trying to say is I am supposed to re-position my body now with resistance & weight training. But like I said I am stubborn, and would rather be stick thin, and model instead. Go figure. Not a very good role model am I.

Just remember to stay healthy when getting there!! :):driving:

Hypereating, compulsive overeating
This is a great article about the subject:
Compulsive Overeating: Why It Happens and How to Stop It

On this program there is no physical hunger. However, I have gotten occasional cravings and hunger thoughts if there is such a thing. It's all psychological.

The more I understand these issues, the more likely I am to never be overweight/obese again. I'm not sure if I fall under this category but something got me to my highest weight and this is an attempt at figuring it out.

I think the hardest part about weight loss for me is psychological, of course. I rarely eat when I am hungry. Mostly to fill time, avoid something, because I saw it on TV, because it's dinnertime, because it's there.... etc.etc. And that of course means overeating because I was never hungry in the first place!

I think you're right, if you figure out the psychological aspects of overeating, other things will come in line.
Wishing you luck this week,
Rachel
