Girl wanting to get toned...

Thanks again JP. The exercises mentioned needs the equipments that I don't have at home. And because of the constraints(mentioned) cannot go to a gym either. So for all of these I will have to look for some dumbbell alternatives.

I pick up my nutrition information from here:

sindydoll.. unlike you, I don't claim I am a "know all". If I were I wouldn't even have signed up here in the first place. So really.. your words don't even insult me.

As far as you are concerned, if it suits you to fight with people and that too on a forum.. go ahead.. do so.. Not my problem anyways.

Tell me what you have available and I will try to scrap something together.

daisy ......find my post that says I am a "know all"... and if not ...just go kiss jp's butt some more...seems the two of you should get it on...]

JP...why u got so much time on here if u got ur own site?

Sindy,
Probably the last reply I will make to your immature posts, but here it goes.

JP...why u got so much time on here if u got ur own site?

Bigger question than you probably realize, but here it is in a nutshell. I am very hyper. I moderate here, for my own site, and I am a resident expert/moderator at Men's Health's message board as well. I have written over 3000 posts over at MH, so I don't hit this one nearly as frequently. I actually post in about 20 fitness sites.

Not that I don't have anything else to do, as our illustrious tenskt suggested. I also own a thriving health club, and I have a seperate corporate wellness company that has really started to grow in the last couple of years. If you are interested (which I doubt that you are), here is my bio. I am chairman of the AR Governor's Council on Fitness, Chairman of the Trails for Life grant committee, and on the board of directors of our local symphony. In addition to all that, I also have a wife and three young children, and with all that I still find time to practice my classical guitar for the growingly rare occassions that I do professional gigs. (Actually, if you watch TV you may try to catch the syndicated garden show, "P. Allen Smith's Garden Home"... If you read the credits you will see that I played the entire soundtrack for that show.

Where do I find all the time? I don't watch any TV for one thing, and I am a very high energy person who is passionately committed to helping everyone get excited about fitness. So there you have it! :D

Sindydoll, what's your diet like? Or rather, what did you eat yesterday? 1000, or even 1500, cal/ day seems like so little. I don't understand how someone could do that and have enough energy to get through the day. But I like to eat...
Agreed: people have different needs, but there are some minimums...aren't there?

Also...thanks all the same for everyone's interest in my diet..but I never asked for any opinions or feedback on it....

I know what suits me and i ain't asking for anyones help/info on it...

my point from the start has been proven time and time again on this thread....you slate people who do what they want to and even if someone says to you that they don't agree...you keep on and on...

if that's the way personal training is, then I think it should be called the army, not being allowed to have your own opinions and your own way of doing things....crap.

Never said what anyone said was wrong, I just told you all to leave people have their ideas and ways of doing things. IF they ask for advice then advise, not bludgeon to death...

well...JP...to sustain all that activity you must be on about 700,000 calories a day are ya?!

It is amazing how much time you have to be active and productive when you cut out TV.

I am not at my ideal bodyfat right now... but thank god I have no love handles and I can barely see my abs. I have much work to do though. The biggest negative influence on my phsyique is one thing I wouldn't change for anything... My three kids! Hard to stay looking like a fitness model when you have three kids, but hard to care that much about anything that much now.

lose weight

Well my plan has been working. As far as losing weight goes. Im doing Winsor pilates 3-4 days a week. I used to eat alot of junk food like chips, soda, candy, anything that wasnt too good to have alot of. Im not over weight, I about 5' 8 and i now weigh 137 and 2 weeks ago i weighed 141. so i lost 4 pound in 2 weeks. Just been eating cereal or yogurt for BB, a salad for lunch and a reasonable dinner w small portions. Plus snacks in between meals. Whats also helped me is I allow myself to have a bite sized piece of chocolate a day and it helps with the cravings. Theres no secret to losing weight. Just gotta cut the fat out and calories and drink lots of water.
But its what works for u too. Mine has worked for me because i limit myself to what i can have during the day and at dinner i just eat whatever mom made but u just gotta be smart about it. Its just something to look forward to so and keeps me eating right throughout the day. i already lost a pant size so i must be doing soemthing right....

I think your main problem after commitment will be the issue most women have with weight training.

There's this wrong belief that training with heavy wieghts is somehow non-feminine and will turn them into one of those female bodybuilders. I wish.

These things don't happen overnight. Maybe lifting big weights is socially intense but for the mentally assertive women who can get past this oppression the rewards will be a fantastic body.

As for losing weight and aerobics, watch the carbs. Personally I find this easy.

Although muscle takes commitment if you make it part of your new identity it's in stride.

Apparently the hardest thing about looking toned and gaining muscle is that often to do this you need to eat more and that means putting on wieght. Mind you that was directed at blokes who want to get big but don't fancy losing the 6-pack.
