Hey everybody, and thank you in advance for reading.
I am technically very very new to working out, I did here and there in HS, but that has been 6 years ago already too.
Right now I am 5'8", 22 years old, and weight exactly 199 pounds. Barely any muscle, mostly just fat (even though the wife says otherwise!)
My thing is I am wanting to join the Air Force, for that, I have to lose at LEAST 25 pouns, be able to do 50 more pushups than I can right now (i can only do 10), and about 50 more sit-ups than I can right now. (right now I do 15).
On top of that, I need to be able to run 1.5 miles in under 11 minutes.
I've been going to the gym for the past week and changed my diet tremendesly. I only drink water, try to have a good protein intake, and less calories, but thats where I am stuck at.
I try to read as much as possible, a personal trainer is out the question (whoa their expensive), and I would just love to have a simple list of things of what to look out for on nutriotional facts, and some good excersices I could do at the gym.
If somebody could help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it.
P.S.: What about Whey Protein? I got a whole tub here at the house, never touched it though, should I?
p.p.s: I improved running from only able to do 0.2 miles until my calves cramped up to this morning 0.5 miles @ 6 mph before they cramped up. My endurance was still fine though.
