Getting in better shape in college

Hey everyone. I am currently 19 years old, almost 20. I am in college as well as in a fraternity, which means I have to eat terrible food (goes for taste and I'm sure nutrition wise as well) as part of living in the house. I'm really trying to get in better shape and drop about 15 pounds of fat if not a little more. What do you all think the best plan of attack for this is? We have fairly unhealthy food on a regular basis and I live in a college town so there isn't exactly a large market for healthy alternatives.

On a regular basis I would say I eat some sort of sandwich for lunch (not normally healthy at all) and some sort of chicken meal for dinner with rice or pasta. This is the main type of thing our food service makes all the time. Any help would be greatly appreciated as far as tips on how to change this around for me! Thanks!

Edit: Also, I don't exercise a whole lot and to be honest drink quite a bit on the weekends. I am all for exercising quite a bit more, but the weekend fun is just part of my lifestyle.

I know where you are coming from - sort of a chaotic living situation where your meals aren't exactly planned (and definitely not healthy). This is going to sound cheesey - but I think you should talk to some girls that are into fitness on your campus - maybe you have a female friend who is in shape and active - see where she's eating and getting her food. It's not a sure-fire plan for results, lol of course - but us girls seem to seek out the health food in the fast-food oasis that surrounds us. I think your goal is super achievable - you are in the best possible "bracket" also for losing weight - young male. 15-20 pounds is a snap... but do it now while the numbers at that low - it's so much harder when you're facing a goal like 50+ pounds. You can do it!
 
you have to start eating alot healthyer, buy a couple of vegetarian cook books and tell your friends your going vegetarian maybe. you can get away with eating one unhealthy meal a week so you could save yourself for that but onestly you have to eat well to lose weight. you really need to have 5 fruit and veg a day, so put some salad on that plain sandwich, cook for dinner with veg and always keep fruit in.
