Getting Harder.......

At the start of the year i decided i should do something (seeing as my father has become diabetic and i have a history of heart problems in my family), so as of febuary i have been putting the effort in to getting my weight, fitness and overall appearence to something more.....desireable.

Heres the numbers: Height 5'8, Male, 18.
Start weight - Feb 15st6, 36"waist.
Over the first 3 months i lost 2 stone through watching what i eat (but not a diet - i like to call it a lifestyle change because i dont cut off everything nice thing and have them in moderation) although i completley cut off one of my bad habbits - crisps(or chips to those over the pond)
I bought a pushbike and started to use my gym equipment, at first not sticking to it religiously and doing about 30 mins extra exercise 4-6 days a week.

Then the loss slowed right down so i upped the exercise & became more focused with my eating habbits.
I have slimmed but not lost anymore weight bar a few pounds, it now stands like this;
I weigh 12st11lbs and am a 32" waist, i cycle over 100 miles a week doing 1-2hrs exercise a day for 5-7 days a week, i eat no more than 2000cals a day although it can slip to lower than 1000 if i have an odd day.
I don't seem to be losing anymore wieght and the loss around my stomach &'love handles' doesn't seem much, everywhere else is nicely toned i moslty just want to abolish these stubborn bits on my hips.
I eat good fats, proteins, lots of fruit & veg and have totally stopped with any fizzy drinks.

Is there anything else or should i just be patient?

Any help much appreciated. :)

Update

Well i cheated this morning anf weighed myself half-weekly, on monday i was 12st10 and this morning i stand at 12st8.
Have been training hard this week keeping to it pretty strict but tonight i slipped up due to a bithday celebration, still drank nothing but water but ate a few sugary things i shouldnt have, stayed away from any crisps still though - still holding out on that, also didn't get as much exercise in for today as my bike has developed a puncture:eek: which is a problem as my bike is my lifeline to losing weight so this must be fixed asap!

Hopefully still on track to getting under 12st by July 7th though:rolleyes:

Thought i'd update this....

I'm now down to 166-7lbs, 21% body fat, bmi 26.

Last week i joined a gym, now aiming for 2-3 times a week, still cycling to and from college and the gym also.

Think its psychological but i'm finding it hard to see the weight loss, which is kinda discouraging, but i'm so into the habbit now i couldnt go back to the old ways if i tried.

Hoping joining the gym will help budge this plateau im on and hopefully this last 5kg's will start to show tone and defenition.:confused:

Do spend some time reading the stickied threads i the exercise forum - it should give you some ideas of where to make mostuse of your time at the gym...

your progress has been great so far, and the new habits you've built for yourself are even better... especially that they are such a habit you won't go back to your older ways.. :) that's to be celebrated

So far i've been doing between 90 mins - 3hrs, muscle training once a week then cardio for the rest.

Normal plan is;
5km on rowing machine
3.2km on Treadmill
10km on exercise bike
Plus the resistance machines and i usually cycle to the gym and back.
