Getting chilled to the bone while running

I hope I'm posting this in the right place, this forum is humongous.

I've been doing caridio (Taebo and Turbo Jam) and the New York ballet training for close to 4 months now. I also do the weight thing (I used to think I'd bulk up but I love it, got me toned fast).

So, now I wanted to add running or jogging to all of this. Swap two days of cardio for two days of jogging.

I've only done it for 4 days but DAMN IT'S HARD. How come I can keep up with that monster of Billy Blanks and then feel like I'm dying after 10 minutes of light jogging?

Okay, my question: I do 10 minutes walk, 10 run, then 10 walk, then 5 run, 10 walk, 5 run. The 5s at the end are because I get progressively exhausted.

When I'm running the first 2 10s, I start out fine but there's a point where instead of feeling the heat from the work out as I normally do, I start feeling chilled. It's like a polar breeze gets my arms, chest and head cold as ice.

Am I doing too much? Should I ask a doctor about this or is it normal?

The days that happened it was very hot. I also don't drink water while jogging because it takes me an hour to get back to my house and I pee every 5 minutes.

That's...a little odd. My immediate reaction would be to suspect something along the lines of heat stroke, especially if it's a very warm day and you haven't been drinking much water. Maybe a circulation thing? I honestly wouldn't have any other clue as to what it might be though (and that's with mighty Google at my fingertips).

Thanks for replying, Benji! You pointed me in the right direction.

Heat stroke certainly looks like might be related, both days it happened it was very hot, very humid and I might have been dehydrated. I looked "heat stroke" in All Mighty Google and wound up reading about other heat related illnesses and found:

Heat exhaustion: Heat exhaustion is a warning that the body is getting too hot. Those most prone to heat exhaustion include elderly people, people with high blood pressure, and people working or exercising in a hot environment. A person with heat exhaustion may be thirsty, giddy, weak, uncoordinated, nauseous, and sweating profusely. As with heat syncope and heat cramps, the body temperature is usually normal in heat exhaustion. The heart rate (pulse rate) is normal or elevated. The skin is usually cold and clammy.

I think that might be it. I was thirsty, I did get weak and felt like my brain was made of soap bubbles and might float away and my skin was definitely cold and clammy. I recover quite fast, takes me maybe 3 minutes of brisk walking and the symptoms are gone so that's why I don't think it could be a heat stroke, by the sound of things, you wouldn't just keep going and do another 3 kilometers, get back home, have a good meal and then be fine the rest of the day (like it happened with me).

I definitely need to take water on runs while it stays this hot and humid.

Yeah it sounds like water is the no 1 problem there. Maybe find a route you can run along that has regular public restrooms or something heh :p

Heh heh. There aren't many bathrooms around and those that are...I'd rather not use them. I'll just have to have a heart-to-heart talk with my bladder, get on the same page.

I'm also going to change my "program". For a month I'm just going to walk very fast, get my heart rate up but not run. I think I might have overdone it.

Thank you all for your help!
