Well, here goes nothing......

My name is Michelle, I am 18 years old, a high school graduate, and ready to finally change my life once again. I am 5'2 and 174 pounds as of today. Guhhh that was so hard to write down. A couple of years ago, during my senior year of high school, I went from 172 pounds to 119 pounds, and felt and looked great! However, what went wrong was I lost the weight way to fast due to basically not eating alot, and I just got sick and tired of it. So here I am, gained all my weight back plus a few more, and I'm ready to loose it the healthy way this time. I really could use all the support I can get :) At the end of the day I'll report on food and exercise. Thanks everyone

Hi there Michelle welcome to the boards. I'm glad you're doing things the healthy way this time. With a good support system you can reach your goal. The most important thing to remember is consistency . If you are consistent with your exercise and keeping track of your food you can't go wrong.

Best of luck and I'll check back in next time you update

Hi Michelle,

I know about losing a bunch of weight, feeling great, then gaining it back. Ugh. It sucks. I applaud you for coming here though! Hopefully together with the rest of them, we can lose this weight forever! Good luck to you! I'll come back and check your progress!

Congratulations on being the first to reply to my journal ladyumba :) As for my update, today has been a pretty lazy day, I haven't just been sitting around though, I did laundry, vacuumed, emptied the dishwasher, cleaned my room, am about to clean up the kitchen after our lunch/dinner in a minute...So even though I haven't "formally" exercised today at least I haven't been lazing around. Tomorrow my dad and I are finally getting back to the gym, I'm actually exited, I loved going to the gym before and I know I'm going to love it this time. As fr food today, I think I've done pretty good :)

Breakfast: 1 packet of regular quaker oatmeal with splenda, cinnamon, 1%milk and blueberries, green tea (little antioxidant boost there)

Lunch/dinner: 1 turkey fajita with red green and yellow bell peppers, mushrooms, on a sundried tomato and basil tortilla with salsa, some fat free refried beans, and 1/2 of another fajita (probably could have done without that other half)

Snack: I plan on having some pineapple and strawberries tonight if I feel like it.

Thanks for reading everyone :)

Hi Trying Again! Sorry I didn't acknowledge you the first time, by the time i had posted I guess you also posted at the same time lol. Yeah loosing weight and gaining it back totally sucks. I know it's going to be difficult loosing it again this time around, but I'm determined to do it. I'm really exited to get back to the gym today, how I've missed my elliptical :hurray: I'll be sure to update on food and exercise as the day goes on, but I just wanted to let everyone know how energetic I feel today and how exited I am to get back in the swing of things. :)

Hi everyone! I've been having a really god day so far, my dad and i got back from the gym not to long ago, we both did 30 minutes on the elliptical and then went to the spa/sauna to relax and have fun. Not bad for a first workout in a long time :) Hopefully were going again tomorrow so I can start doing some strength training again.

Breakfast: Apples and cinnamon Quaker oatmeal with 1% milk and blueberries, green tea

Lunch: Lean Cuisine western chicken panini with salsa and apple slices

Dinner: I plan on making zatarans jumbolia rice with shrimp and sausage, a small salad with tomatoes, onions, sesame seeds and a little bit of homeade thousand island dressing, some pineapple

I know this isn't the healthiest dinner in the world but my dad demanded that I make this, he absolutely loves it hehe. I hope everyone is having a great Monday :)

Welcome back SexierMe...it's awesome that you have the support of your dad...that makes the journey a little lighter.

Man oh man that zattaran's dish sounds great...I may have to steal that idea for my lunch next week.

hehe thanks for the welcome :) That zatarans dish was indeed delicious, and I ended up saving a few calories by not having any of the sausage, just the shrimp and the rice. I don't really care for sausage anyway, I can't eat stuff like that anymore without thinking about all the fat I'm consuming, so I'd rather just not have it .And not that this matters but I ended up having applesauce with cinnamon with my dinner instead of pineapple and I had Olive Garden Italian dressing instead of thousand island. The best part about me making dinner is that dad gets to do the clean up, we have a rule that if he makes dinner, I do the whole clean up, and if I make dinner then he gets the whole clean up. Works fine for me :)

Good morning ya'll! I just got up, had some apples and cinnamon oatmeal with some blueberries and green tea, and am ready for a good day. Dad and I are hopefully headed to the gym soon, if he backs out on me for some reason I'll just jog to my old high school an back or something. All together it's about a mile and a half to 2 miles, so that'll be pretty good. Heres to a happy and healthy Tuesday :cheers2:

Hey everyone! I just got back from the gym not to long ago and I had a nice yummy lunch. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer again and went to the spa/sauna for some relaxation and fun. For lunch I had a lean cuisine salmon Mediterranean. Tomorrow I'm going to a movie with a friend and were going to this really awesome noodle bar where they serve, you guessed it...noodle dishes. So I'll have to get in a really good workout tomorrow :) I hope everyone's having an awesome Tuesday :)

Well I just had dinner, I had 2 pieces of baked frozen fish from Costco, some baked season fries with ketchup, and a side salad with onions, tomatoes, sesame seeds, and less of a tablespoon of homeade thousand island dressing. Oh and for a snack before I worked out I had 1 nature valley oats and honey bar. This afternoon I was very productive, I finally finished remodeling my room (were remodeling our whole house) I looked through boxes and rranged things the way I wanted it, and I got all of my CD's in order. So all in all I think my day was pretty productive :)

congrats on a productive day, also on remaining consistent. Just remember to take baby steps, it's very hard to suddenly change your diet and exercise for hours on end without confusing your body.

Ladyumbra: Thank you for the tip, I've always been an 'all or nothing" kind of person, but this time I'm trying to remember to take baby steps, I know that's what will help me in the long run. I got up this morning at 8:30, made myself some green tea and some oatmeal, and dad and I are headed to the gym pretty soon. I won't be able to update until I get home from my day out with my friend, so I will see you all then :)

Good morning everyone! I tried to update last night but my computer wouldn't let me into the forum for some strange reason, an error message kept coming up, but at least I made it in here this time. Before I went out with my friend Stephanie last night I snacked on a small apple at home and then a handful of pretzels when I got to her house (we took the bus to our destination). We went to an outdoor mall called Kent Station. We had a blast last night, we go to Kent Station, got the tickets for our movie, and then went to a restaurant called Zao's. It's an incredible noodle restaurant where they serve all kinds of noodle dishes, but there are some non noodle dishes as well. She had the beef ramen (which is AWESOME by the way) and I had this incredible black been chicken with jasmine rice. It was a HUGE platter of food so I only managed to eat half of what I was given, which is a very good thing because I was having a hard time stopping eating, it was just so awesome! Then after we ate Stephanie's mom came to pick us up and took us to Best Buy, I got an iPod case for my very scratched up iPod and she got a new zen (similar to an iPod). While Steph was shopping I managed to sneak over to the bath and Body Works right next door and got myself some awesome Japanese Cherry Blossom :) I LOVE that stuff! Then her mom took us back to Kent Station, we walked around for a little bit then she had the idea of going to the espresso shop for hot chocolate. So we went there, and she got a hot chocolate, along with a chocolate bar, and I got a sugar free low fat vanilla latte. I gotta say it was VERY VERY good, I couldn't tell the difference between that and the sugar and high fat version at all. And I gotta say it was a very good feeling sitting there and enjoying my drink knowing that Stephanie was consuming 3 times as many cals as I was with the hot chocolate and melting her chocolate bar in the hot chocolate so it taste all the more sweet. But we had a great time talking and hanging out until it was time for our movie. We saw Death Note 2, what an awesome movie that was!! I won't go into the details because it would take me all day, but definitely a must see for people who love mystery movies. Then, it was time for us to come home to our comfortable houses and beds :) Overall yesterday was an awesome day. As for my workout yesterday I did 30 mins on the elliptical again, then sauna afterwards (dad and I didn't have a lot of time) Were not going to the gym today because it's my bothers birthday and he has a lot to do, but tomorrow I am DEFINITELY doing some strength training, no excuses this time :) I'll update on food and fun tonight. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good afternoon ya'll! Today has been a great day so far, I spent the whole morning helping my dad decorate the house for my bro's birthday and help him bake the birthday cake (drool). I don't think I'll be able to boycott the cake entirely, maybe I'll just have a bite or a very small slice.

Breakfast: 1 cup of banana nut crunch cereal (didn't finish it) with 1% milk, blueberries, and 1 cup of natural herbal tea.

Lunch: turkey fajita with onions, peppers, and a small regular flour tortilla, 3 orange wedges.

dinner: I plan on having a small serving of prime rib, small serving of fried potatoes, green beans, and a small side salad with low fat Italian dressing.

possible desert: 1 bite or small piece of birthday cake :)

Well dinner has now come and gone, and it was absolutely delicious! I ate everything I said I was going to, only I have managed to boycott the cake so far. It looks sooooo good, but I just don't have any desire to have some right now. Which is a very good thing indeed. I hope everybody is having a great night :)

Good morning everyone. I got up and weighed myself (I was going to wait until Sunday but the suspense was killing me) and I'm down a pound (173 from 174). I was expecting a little more, but that's alright, my food and exercise still needs a little work so I'll take whatever I can get. So far:

Breakfast: apples and cinnamon oatmeal with 1% milk and blueberries, a cup of herbal tea

Lunch: Tuna fish sandwhich made with tuna in water, a little more than a tablespoon of regular mayonnaise, dill pickles, onions, garlic, and pepper flakes on 2 slices of oatnut bread, 4 orange slices

I had an awesome workout at the gym today! I did 40 minutes on the elliptical on the random program on level 6, and I finally did some weight training! I'm to lazy to get into the specifics but it was a really good workout and I feel really proud of myself :)

Well, I just had dinner, and it was really good to!! I had a bowl (probably a little more than a cup) of homeade venison stew made by my neighbor (it had deer meat, red potatoes, carrots, onions, and a really good beef broth) and I had a small side salad with carrots, cucumbers, green onions, celery, a small amount of cheese and sesame seeds, and a little olive garden Italian dressing. Tomorrow my aunt and uncle and my cousin and his girlfriend are coming over for the weekend, so I'm very very exited about that, we don't get to see them much because they live a couple of hours from where I live. I'm going to try to get in a workout tomorrow at the gym, but we shall see :) Goodnight everyone!

You did good today! Good job on dropping the lb. Every pound counts!!!

Congrats on 40 minutes on the elliptical! I did 30 the other day and I thought I was going to die lol
