Couple of things..

1.) 19% BMI? are you talking % body fat or is your BMI 19 ?

2.) Like Karl78 said, CLEAN DIET and Cardio... Calories in need to be 500 minus what your calories out are every single day of the week.

3.) No exercises are going to get you a six-pack unless you listen to #2.

4.) Good luck getting them in that short of time frame... because if you are 19% BF, you need to get down to at LEAST 12%. and even if you do, more likely you'll do it in an 'unhealthy' manner...

Hey forsaken...at 14 years old you are technically too you to get involved with weightlifting and the goal of get the infamous "6 pack" per say can honestly wait. I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned before!. You could be active in sports, fitness, even dance, aerobics...these all burn calories and shape/tone the body natuarally. Your body at 14 years is just beginning to develop in terms of puberty for one. Inside is as important because the hormone activity alone at that age needs its time and respect to form what will be an adult in a few years. Overdoing things before the time is counterproductive...especially to the reproductive/genital growth and area if you are too young. Stressing out your body now is not smart. There lots of things you could be doing to keep fit and healthy first and foremost. At about 18 years or even after 21...anywhere in your 20s is a safe time to begin looking into the 6 pack..but do so under some good guidance. Now, is the time to investigate, read, OBSERVE yourself, others, and what you "think" that you want to get into later on....things change ...try to roll will it...and see if you are the same person a few years from now. Afterall seven years ago did you even care about "6 pack abs"?. In not time you will be where you need to be for what you want. The advise in the other two posts are great...file it a way for later on. The guy in the photo with the great biceps is in NOT a 14 year old , nor did he get that way he looks by some quickie routine. If you want to look that you have to at least give yourself some time and your own body a change to grow up first. Your dad is right on this one.

i'm with kylee on this one. at 14 you are discovering yourself, figuring out who you are. don't worry about having a six pack abs. stay active and have fun. there is so much for you to do and explore, don't lose your youth by worring about being a "hard body" that will come later when your body has finished developing and changing. now is too early. set yourself up with good eating habits and staying active, cardio is really good for you right now, keep's your heart healthy. can i ask why, if you don't mind, why at 14 you are wanting 6 pack abs? seriously i'm really curious what the modivation is! :)

lol no its not to be a model or w/e my body fat is 14.25% i just want a 6 pack no reason i need to be fit for soccer thats why. made a mistake on first post sorry.

Thats cool, I wasn't just referring to you though. There are a lot of girls and boys that come here and ask how to get a 6pack or jessica simpsons butt or are woried to death about a tiny bit of fat on their belly when they sit forward.

Don't worry about you six pack then if you're going to soccer... because you can have the best six pack in the world and be the worst soccer player... Just train like a soccer player, eat clean, have fun, and your six pack may come out without trying...

Nothing wrong with a training routine thou at that age if that's what you want to do. I started weight training when i was 12 years old.

Even if you did start training young, it wont do much good cos your creatine and testosterone levels are too low.

But it is a great idea to keep in shape so that when you are old enough you'll have the energy and body to sculpt as you wish.

dont bother with weights, you'll be much better off playing as much sport as you can and enjoying it.

yea I play quiet a bit of sports soccer on a team, football for fun and I run alot my PE teacher wants me to join Track because he thinks im an animal or something and that I need to be pushed some more but last time I checked just running doesn't get you a six pack. Thats why I'm doing about 120 crunches, 40 pushups and 80 leg lifts the second I get home and the same thing couple of hours before bed.

Where the hell you read that? I can tell you a few of my cousins and a couple freinds build muscle at a very young age. Strength increased also.

Every one knows that you shouldnt lift when your young. maybe your familys bodys are able to cope, but it can stump growth.

Plus weight lifting can be very dangourus If your young and irisponsable, you know that. If kids start young, all the kids are gonna wanna start doing it and start hurting them selves. kids bodys or minds are not ready for this sort of thing, even if your family is special.

All the time your standing you are using your core muscles (obliques(side muscles) lower back and abs, and when you are running, leaning, kicking, climbing, changing direction or even reaching for something you are working them out. Sport is the best way to get a 6six pack cos your burning fat and building a good strong core for your body. If any of you are doing sit ups, make sure your doing at least half as many back curls.

Besides hitting on the saftey issues.

There is no soild evidence that resistance training will stump growth. I'm 6 foot and both my parents are under 5'5".

Here's an article by Wayne Westcott from ptonthenet.com

"For decades, preadolescents have been prohibited from performing strength exercise because we were led to believe that resistance training would damage their bone growth plates and retard their musculoskeletal development. Fortunately, nothing could be farther from the truth. In fact, there has never been a case of bone growth plate damage due to strength exercise reported in the United States1. Furthermore, progressive resistance training is the best, and in our increasingly sedentary society perhaps the only way to enhance musculoskeletal development in boys and girls.

We have also heard that pre-teens cannot benefit from strength training because they do not have enough testosterone (male sex hormone associated with muscularity) to make significant gains in muscle strength. This argument makes no more sense than saying that women can’t increase muscle strength because they have too little testosterone. Obviously, both women and children can experience major improvements in muscle strength from regular participation in resistance training programs. In a classic study by Faigenbaum and associates, 2 10 year old boys and girls made overall strength gains of 74 percent after just two months of twice-a-week training (see Table 5.1). Although the non-training control subjects increased strength by 13 percent through normal growth and development, the exercisers made significantly greater improvement"

Thanks Dex, however the orignal poster is 14. I think he can hit the weights if he wants, what about you? :)
