Get it going...

Hey everyone!
so my name is Kristina, I'm 19 and basically I'm just trying to get my big butt in shape. It feels like I have been at this forever, I have always been a big girl. right now my weight is at 250ish and I am 5'5. I started at 380 pounds about 2 and a half years ago. I was diagnosed with pcos and put on metformin and birth control and it did wonders for me. my blood results are all at normal levels now, which is a big relief. I joined because I need to be pushed further and I'm the type who needs support to keep motivated. I feel I have been at a major plateau for the past year, and I know it comes down to me just not sticking with it and being as strict as i should be. So I'm just going to be posting daily here about what I am doing eating and how it's going. more or less a place for me to air my thoughts feelings and probably alot of frustrations haha, in hopes that doing that will keep me on track and let me look back on things i am doing and need to change, whats working and whats not working. Feel free to post anything here, I would love to hear feedback and have mutual support here.

so my start weight is 252, today was an okay day as far as weightloss. it was a i could have done better day and ill try to do better tomorrow day. which is what i hate because i feel like thats unsucessful for me. i dont want to keep relying on the next day. that is the best thing about writing it all down here. i feel like getting it out instead of keeping it in my head makes it so much better and easier for me to get it right. anyways im rambling, so heres what i ate today

the good:
cheerios with 1 percent milk
turkey sandwich yogurt and apple
a few bites of mashed potatoes
grilled chicken, 1 cup of spinach parmesan noodles, and salad with fatfree italian dressing
piece of bread

the okay:
chocolate pudding

the bad:
3 chocolate chip cookies

i am trying not to eat after 8pm and i want to get in one of my workout videos tonight. so well see how it all went tomorrow.

Hey!

Looks like you've done great and good luck for the rest of your journey.

Maybe you should start a diary here. I'm just starting out and I've found it's helped me to keep track of stuff.

Welcome to the forum Kristina!

First off, very well done on your weigth loss thus far. 130 pounds is a TON of lost weight, and it shows you have what it takes to finish going down the mountain, so to speak :p

Good work on the foods you listed. I especially like the turkey and grilled chicken. Quality protein there. I personally don't care for potatoes much, just because theyre loaded with starches, and what type of bread did you eat? Whole grain? wheat?

When you get a chance, read some of the stickies around here, they have some good information about proper nutrition. Once you figure out your BMR, you can begin logging calories and should see a nice steady drop in weight.

Cheers, and good luck on your journey Kristina!

Hey Andy!
thank you so much for congratulating me on my weightloss, its been a long road but its so worth it!
I always stick with whole grain and dark breads like pumpernickel because i heard dark breads are the best for you.
Ill definitely check out some of those threads, ive read a lot so far. i really like this site its a major help and motivation.
i started a diary where i log my calories and what im doing and all that, so thats fun. i think its great to be able to look back and write it all down because it makes you realise what your doing right and wrong.
And i would like to say a big well done on your 100 pounds lost!! way to go!
thank you for replying and for your helpful feedback.

Hello Kristina :)

First off, it sounds like you have done really great so far ! I don't think plateaus are always such a bad thing. It's like, it gives your body a chance to get used to the new, lighter you. Kind of like a reset period. I dunno', maybe I'm just blowing smoke....

For myself though, I lost about 50 lbs, diet alone, but then, it just stopped. Don't think I lost a pound for about 6 weeks. Then I started some pretty hard-core cardio, and it started dropping again ! Even now, when I don't even care if I lose any more weight on the scale, and still, I lost another 3 lbs in the last week !

Heck, I hope I stop losing weight soon ! As I eventually want to be 20 to 25 lbs heavier, than I am right now ! ....albeit, I want to go from probably 18% body fat @ 195 lbs, to 8% BF @ 220 lbs.

Anyway, whatever you do, don't ever give up ! You already know what your body is capable of, both on the good and the bad side of things. Just do whatever it takes, to live as healthy as you can !

And be happy :)

Peace,
Fish
