oh man, i love mine too. i had the small one but i traded with my parents for the big one. i cook up all my food for the week on sundays and i'm done with that.
one big thing i learned was not to let the stuff harden on it when you're finish. makes it very hard to clean. do it while its still warm.
My mom has one, and I can't stand it because all the flavor is gone. And the food is generally drier. For me, it is worth it to eat food the way it was meant to be eaten and excercise more. But hey, that's just me. I love food, and how it tastes is important to me. Oh, and Tabasco is a must. It's about the best thing you can put on food. 0 calories, lots of taste, speeds up your metabolism, keeps ya regular...etc
I prefer the taste of open flame grilling - just as healthy and easier to control temperature. Sometimes, when the weather doesn't cooperate, the forman is a good alternative.
I'm not sure if it's as healthy... I've read that charcoal/propane grilling adds oxidatives to whatever you're cooking. Another reason to use everyone's favourite electric grill.
I love my Foreman. I cook 8 chicken breasts on Monday to last until Wednesday night, then Thursday morning I cook 8 more breasts to last me through the weekend. It's fast, convenient, and I don't have any complaints w/ flavour.
I like the new foreman grill, with the removable grill plates. Makes cleanup sooo much easier.
In the summer, I use more charcoal or propane for grilling. The thing about grilling, especially with propane, is to use the right amount of heat. This is easy with slower cooking charcoal, but its too easy to overdo it with a gas grill. The theory goes that high heat grilling actually creates carcinogens in the meat, on the surface where it's charred.
So, stick to medium heat on the gas grill and you should be ok.
