hi,
Ive been browsing this site for the last couple of weeks. Its been good to read a lot of advice and I find the before and after pics pretty motivational.
I'm 5ft 6 in tall an currently weight somewhere between 90-93kg (my home scale says 90 and the gym scale says 93 so I am going to use the home scale to make me feel better, hehe).
Last night was the first night I weighed myself in almost 9 years.
The previous last time I weighed myself I was 18 years old, just out of high school and weighed about 69kg. My goal is to get back to 75kg by March next year - in time for football season (which I havent played in 6 years).
So weighing myself was a big step for me as I hadn't weighed myself partly because I was scared to see what I had actually blown out to.
The scariest part is that I am about a month into my weight loss so was probably anywhere between 95-99kg at my worst....
I like running and swimming so the exercise part of weight loss is is no problem. The dieting is what kills me as I love food. Not junk food, but nice pasta, curries, cereals and bread especially - all the high carb stuff and starches pretty much, hehe.
So far, Ive minimised my carb intake and are exercising 6 times a week (probably clocking up 20km run and swimming 3km). Probably can still improve the diet and drink more water.
My motivation is to start playing football again and generally feeling better about myself. When I was thinner I was happier and now I need to get my mojo back.
Anyway, that is my story - so far. I hope it will have a happy ending in 6 months time!
Nice to meet you all
