Gastric Bypass

Hi everyone,

I have heard today that I have my date for my bypass 23.07.09 I am now suddenly panicking about whether I really want to do this, has anyone had the bypass and can they tell me about their experiences. I am really worried about losing my hair, I have read that this can happen in fact often does?? What do you all think??
 
Hi Matt,

I am 52 in August weigh almost 20 stone but am actually fit and healthy. I own two horses look after them myself and ride regularly . I just feel that I am in a really good position now for health and healing and I want to carry on riding into my 60's and 70's and don't see that happening unless I lose some weight
 
Heya Dawn, there are several threads already under Surgical weight loss which might help you.
Several of our members have gone ahead with it, and can tell you both good and bad. You will loose weight, however you may throw up a lot! :D

Dont panic too much, it is natural to panic before surgery, especially the 'day before'. I recently donated a kidney, i tell you i was seriously panicing the night before. But the next morning before surgery I was totally fine .. very weird.
