..I hope you read this. First, keep using your elliptical trainer. They work, as does any exercise where you have to move. Second, you're not eating enough. Without enough food, your body goes into starvation mode and holds onto fat and burns muscle instead. Third, you're not going to believe this, but you're using your elliptical for too long! I know, hard to believe. I didn't believe it when I first heard it. What do you know about High Intensity Interval Training? Basically, what you do, is hop on your elliptical and warm up at a medium pace for 5 minutes. Then, you go as hard as you can for a short period of time, and then rest. Then you keep doing it. Here's an example: warm up for 5 minutes at medium pace. Go as hard as you can or close to it for 20 seconds, then slow down to below medium pace for 40 seconds. That is one set. Do that 6-8 more times. Then cool down for 5 minutes. That's it. 16-18 minutes, max. What happens with long, drawn out, medium intensity exercise is that your body burns calories while you do the exercise, but once you stop, your body does too. But with H.I.I.T., your body keeps burning calories long after you're done with your workout. And if it sounds easy, trust me, try it. Do that 3 or 4 times a week and see if it helps. I know it will...But I'm warning you, you will be surprised at how difficult such a short workout can be, so if you can't do it 6-8 times, just do as many sets as your body allows you.
