From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

Scales are an abomination unto Nuggan, shirts that fit in the waist without closing over your chest are truth-tellers, wooohooooo!

Congrats on getting down to that new low Q. And congrats to all the deer for coming away unscathed.

:smilielol5: Q at the Bleepin' * freakin' * @#$!!&**@#$!@ Scale! ;)

I had that kind of weigh in as well. lmbo :D You're not alone!

So glad you had a great day outdoors! If it will ever stop raining here I might be able to get to my favorite Park with Trails!!

Thanks LaMa!
Thanks Vee!
Thanks Stacy!

I haven't been on the scale since Saturday. I ate some Halloween candy yesterday which is the first time in memory that I've had candy. I have felt so beat up and tired lately. I think it's the few days I a row of working out in the field and running. I haven't done my bw squats in a couple days and I've been running minimum distance and going to bed early, but I still feel like crap. I am not sick, but I feel so run down lately.

Maybe you need a new way of relaxing? Activities to distract you from cravings without costing too much energy, like... I don´t know, a cooking course or a meditation weekend together with E? Sounds (to me, who has never seen you in her life so take it as seriously as you want to ;) ) like you´ve been on this journey for so long you need a bit of a time-out without feeling the risk of regaining. Also: When you first started out the weightloss wasn´t just fast, I imagine you really felt the difference in energy levels with every kilo. Now that you are at a perfectly normal weight putting in the same amount of effort without feeling similar progress might make it feel like a neverending story. Ignore me if I´m doing armchair psychology too much :grouphug:

Feeling run down is awful. LaMa's suggestion sounds like a good one. I can highly recommend getting a decent massage. By that I don't mean the opposite to an indecent one, but a really good strong massage or a really good relaxing massage & a short break from being absolutely flat out. You have been pushing yourself for so long Q & it may be time for some TLC, xoxo Cate

Thanks LaMa and Cate!

So it turns out that I was feeling run down because I was getting sick. I felt pretty terrible Friday and Saturday. I started feeling better Sunday night. Sinus and stomach woes. I kept my run streak going, but I did not do anything else.

I've decided to start counting calories again and I will be ramping up my running as I feel able. I haven't weighed lately.

I wanted to talk body fat. I'm still around 25% but I have been trending lower and even had an even, 20% measure one morning. I need to make a trend line graph. The American Council on Exercise says 25%+ is obese so I'm right at or just under that threshold. They qualify 14-17% as fitness and 6-13% as athletes for males. Another source age adjusted said 15% us the top end for my age group for optimal running shape.

So assuming 248.8 and 25% BF I need to lose at least 10 percent bf. Losing only bf that would be roughly 215 pounds or another 34 pounds to lose. Assuming I can't prevent the loss of some lean body mass the 15% BF will likely happen closer to 200 pounds or closer to another 50 pounds lost. I will put together a chart and start updating here with regular measurements.

Your Run Streak is AMAZING!! :hurray:

You are doing so well and all of your hard work and dedication is an inspiration!

Have A Goal Reaching Week! :hug2:

I love that you are at the stage where you are looking at getting down to optimum fitness & bf. :D Glad you're feeling a litthe better Q. Awesome that you still ran your minimum. Talk about determined! xoxo Cate

Thanks Stacy! I hope your week goes great too!
Thanks Cate! Stubborn/determined tomato/tomato.

I set a 1 mile PR tonight with a 7:48 mile which beats my old time by 7 seconds set in July. I have been eating too much and I bought wine. Bad Quercus!

7 seconds that's the equivalent of an hour in running times. Way to go. I too am in the naughty corner. I had a reaction to my anti pneumonia and my husband gave me a very large whiskey and coke and put me to bed. I'm repeating the dosage every evening this week. I learned to enjoy whiskey with coke when I was in the States. The purists over here are still scandalized when they ask me what's my poison and I tell them

Sorry to hear you were sick. Feeling better? Also, have you considered breaking the run streak? Not saying you shouldn't exercise, but maybe you need a break from that and to try something different.

Thanks Polly! I have to admit that whiskey sounds pretty good as I sit in the woods freezing this morning.

I am feeling better Cory. I think about my streak every day. Every time I think of breaking it I end up feeling stronger for having pushed through. It isn't a number for me any more. It is something that has changed me in a good way and all of the times I could have quit and didn't make me more reluctant every time. Next Thursday is a year for the streak so that's going to happen and then it's the holiday Runner's World streak that started this craziness so that is happening too. Maybe I'll quit next year, but I imagine I will quit when I have to.

I had a great run last night with 2.25 miles in 19:35 followed after a quick break by another slow quarter mile to finish E's run with her.

I'm not doing well with calories/portions and the problem is that I am pretty okay with that at the moment.

I'm going to do the streak again, Q! You're the reason I did it last year, and I'm excited to do it again. I have a friend who's recruiting people to do it and they are factoring in penalties for days they miss. Not me, I'm just not going to miss any days.

Hey Q! Remember me?

Anyhow, amazing work on the running streak. I wonder if maybe just an intentional slight change in some food habits might help you a bit. Maybe eat more often and less amounts, or less often and more amounts. Or maybe switching up a little bit of certain types of food for something a little different? Dunno, just kinda thinking aloud.

You're both literally and figuratively many miles ahead of where you were. That in and of itself is a massive accomplishment, and remains a good base to keep working on moving forward (once again both literally and figuratively).

You guys do Thanksgiving or no? We do. Oh my god do we ever do a diet destroying Thanksgiving...

Nice Oaks! I'm glad to hear that. I'm with you. If you miss a day there is no streak. Do or do not, there is no try. - Yoda

HI there Vee! My mother is a retired caterer. There will be silver, crystal, tablecloths, and enough food for a sizeable military campaign. Fortunately I will be allergic to much of it with my garlic allergy, but I will still manage to pig out. E is making desserts for us so there will be chocolate cake and apple crisps at the house too. She has done great while I've faltered and this is her treat for herself so I won't fight it.

My father worked at a brewery. How did I ever get fat?

That explains a lot Vee. They take "Food is love" to a whole new level don't they?
