From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

I hate to break it to you but being hungry at 1900 kcal might be normal for a tall, active guy. But then again: redistributing your calories might help. More complex carbs for dinner?

Hey, Q! Just dropping to say hi and good luck with the calorie streak! :)

Whole food plant based diet means complex carbs is all I eat LaMa.

Thanks Jen!

I'd guess so, but I won't attempt to confirm experimentally Chef. ;)

8/552 in the bag.

Or not. I'm having ear and sinus trouble and my stomach got really nauseous. I tried antacid and ginger and that didn't help so I ate a few tortilla chips which I had calories for, but the nausea returned and I ate more which helped my stomach and busted the streak. Technically it was due to my health, but that's lame. Day one again tomorrow.

So I was on vacation last week for the first full week off in years. I decided to vacation from my dietary responsibilities as well. So back to work literally and figuratively today. Thanks for the well wishes anyway. The run streak continues of course.

Hope you had a wonderful break! Sadly the US is not the kindest to its workers... Say I, with my five weeks of paid leave and 14 holidays a year. I almost feel guilty :(

I was getting three weeks a year at my old job, but I took a check for my accrued vacation and now I get 2 weeks and few holidays, but they take good care of me otherwise.

Day 2/559 done with 1.2 miles ran. I worked outside in the heat today and now that I'm cooling off I'm starving. Day 3 will be a challenge. Running 1.3 miles tonight.

Challenges! I think they're over-rated. Hope you get through the day, without too much difficulty, Q

I'm modifying the streak to be flexible on days of heavy exertion. I ended up eating a bit more at bedtime because I was too hungry to sleep. So I can increase my calories to account for things like tough days in the field or long/intense runs. I can estimate the additional calories burned and eat below that amount. That way extra exertion still results in extra calories burned without suffering unduly.

Yesterday I went 7.73 miles all outdoors with 1.45 running and the rest in the woods and up and down dams in the low to mid 90s F. I ate a big spoon of unsweetened peanut butter after 1,900 cals.

Thoughts and opinions please.

Q, is that an onion in your avatar? Are you on the Ron Swanson diet?

Yuck! No thanks. Also that's the only vegetable I've seen him eat.

So 4/561 yesterday was 1,900 calories eaten and 1.7 miles ran.

I'm having a shitty time with food. The streak isn't working. I overate a lot last night for a 262.4 weigh in this morning. I haven't weighed in a long time and that's part of the problem. I've only ever made progress with weigh ins and calorie counting so that is what I'll do.

Yesterday was 2.25 miles ran with 2 being at a fast pace.

I'm succeeding with upping the running in large part because I am taking my old pain meds in the evenings. They make me feel weird and it screws with my appetite and apathy, but the back/hip have been slowing me down for so long. I'm hoping a short stint on these will help. I had adjusted to the constant pain, but it was starting to seriously interfere with my sleep.

I'm trying to reduce the sugar in my diet which just means more veggies and less fruit. I'm hoping that will lower my appetite.
