From 300lbs to 215!!!

It took almost a year and a half but I've plateaued around 215 and I'm starting off the new year by getting back on the treadmill. In my before pics I started off at 6'4" and 300lbs. when I was 18 and now at age 20, 215lbs.

I started off by simply walking. I would go out and just walk around my neighborhood for about 2 hours a day, as often as I could. I started off by walking and then slowly moved into dieting. You don't really have to change your diet the very first day... just add exercise to the diet you already have and you'll start to notice a difference in just a few days just by how you feel and how much energy you'll gain.

After you've gone a few weeks doing that.... then start changing your diet. The first thing I started doing was to drop sodas completely, and switch to water. Lots of water. If I got a craving for coffee I would make a hot cup of green tea (half the caffeine of coffee) to spike the metabolism and satisfy my caffeine craving for the day.

After that, I switched to portion control which I have to say is *****THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!!!***. I cannot stress this enough. It's simple, eat for about ten minutes (taking a sip of water between mouth fulls), then STOP. Just get up, and walk away for about ten more minutes... So what if it gets cold?, that's what microwaves are for! You WILL (I PROMISE) find that when you get back you're NOT going to be hungry. Put the other half away and have it for a meal later, if not tomorrow. When I was at my heaviest, I once ate an entire large chicago deep dish pizza and large order of garlic breadsticks in one sitting. I realize now, that entire meal could have lasted me for almost a week at 3 meals a day.

For the last part of my diet, I found that printing up a blank calendar and writing my weight down on it at the beginning of each day, became VERY IMPORTANT , If I ever started to fall off my diet. I would feel like crap having to write a higher number on that calendar each day.

Hope my plan helps....

Wow, well done!!

You can't imagine how much I appreciate those photos, since I started off the same weight as you 1 year ago, and now am within 3-4 months of hitting that same point! You and I pretty much have the same body shape, although you are 20 years younger. :) You plateaued at a great spot, since it works well on ya!

Exactly what I am going for! Who says you have to be under 200 to look fit?
My final goal is 220 pounds, which based on you, seems like it will be just right!

Congrats man, thanks for the motivation!

You forgot to update your dignity level on the after pic :p

Great job and good luck with the rest of your journey.

Nice dude. I bet it feels good being able to wear t shirts and having no fat showing.

I can so relate with that comment.

I always would suck it in so people couldn't see, but it got to a point that even sucked in people could see :D

Looking great guy! You can 100% see the difference.

I know lmao. It'd make you feel uncomfy and sweaty in public. But once you get the stage where you don't show in a t shirt, it feels damn good.

wow, you did not look 300 pounds before but you look even better now.
I also relate to the seeing the fat under the shirt comment. None of my friends have ever seen me without my stomach sucked in.

Stellar job, mate! Way to go! You should feel proud. Keep it up, and keep it off.

Best wishes as you enter the maintenance phase of your journey shortly.

Cheers,
ABBA
