Frequency of the run

Hello all,
Happy to be here. I have read some of these posts regarding how frequent one should run and have a question. Right now I typically run 2-3 days in a row then take 2-3 days off. It's a convenience thing as I run after work and don't work a typical 5-day work week. Anyway, my endurance is getting better but I stil feel as if I struggle too much on occasion. No physical pain (anymore) when I run.

I just began running about 8 weeks ago. When I started, I couldn't even make it 1/4 of a mile without stopping and requiring resuscitation. I can now make it 2 1/2 miles each time. Sometimes I finish good and feel like I can run another 2 1/2 miles. Other (fewer) times, I am ready to pass out at less than half that but always manage to push myself to finish without stopping.

Is this inconsistentcy caused by my running habits or is it typical? It isn't always the first day back or the third day in a row of running that I tire more easily. Nor can I pinpoint it to the days where I ate the big box of Cheez-Its while at work.

for me, it all depends on my stress level. sometimes i can just get in "the zone" and i go longer than i meant to on the treadmill. other days, i can barely reach my goal. i've found that if my mind is free and i've had enough sleep and not much to eat, i workout much, much better! exercise is much more psychological than most people like to admit!

While running, as soon as I start doubting I am going to make it is when my energy starts draining because I start getting "nervous". This happened to me ALOT when I ran road races. While running, once I realize that I have run these 3.1 miles 20 times before I relax and it seems like I can focus my energy better and keep going.
