Hello,
I'm 60 and I've been active forever. I've always enjoyed walking and use a treadmill during the winter months or bad weather. I will switch between that and an elliptical machine my husband and I bought last year. It's a great way to catch up on Netflix! I've tried weight lifting on and off, but in recent years I keep having problems with shoulder and back pain so that's been frustrating. Next I tried Pilates and I thought that was the answer until I saw the article in Fitness.com (through the Zite app on my iPad) about strengthening your core and lower back pain. Of course, the Pilates training shows exercises that are exactly what this articles says not to do!
Combined with fitness, I love riding my horses and recently I started doing dressage, although I don't ride in the winter. It takes a lot of control and core strength so I'm searching for ways to improve. Also, I'm trying hard to stay toned. It's definitely more challenging as I'm aging, but I'm determined that I'm going to stay mobile and keep riding into my 80s.
I'm hoping this site and these forums will help me with that.
Anne
