For those in the 150's...

Hi!

Hello :) This is my first official post on these forums!

I am 159 as of this morning (normally am around 156 ish but was bad past few days).

I come from the low carb world, but have made a big change lately. I have decided to count calories (not a set # of calories, rather have a 500 calorie deficit each day depending on my activity level). It sounds confusing, but i use to track. I am unfortunatly normally sedetary, so i burn 1800 cals/day, and w/ a 500 cal. deficit, thats around 1300 cals/day to lose 1-2 lbs/week. So, that means i should meet my goal around August, of 135 lbs. Which I really want to do! That is why im here. I think its resonable. And, I really enjoy breaking up the ranges ie: 150, 140, - it seems very motivating! I really hope to go into the 140 club w/in a few weeks.. maybe w/ a few of youall w/ me?

I also eat mainly all organically, 3 meals with maybe 1-2 snacks, and I adhere to some of the "negetive" calorie diet aspects.. Even if it itsnt proven I still feel healthier and it somewhat forces me to want to eat fruits and veggies- it probably all mental, but thats fine by me.

So- sorry if this is my first, and long post- but im excited, I have been a part of the low carb world for sooo long- since 2001, and havent really been eating low carb for few months, and have been reading some excellent books (Mindless Eating, French women dont get fat..etc) that have made me realize life doesnt have to exclude carbs.

Is it ok to post menus/calorie counts here? Or is that better on another thread? Either way, it helps me to stay accountable so here it is:
B: 2 eggs fried in little butter, ketchup and coffee/skim milk/stevia
Sn: 4 bits of licorish
L: Split Pea Soup w/ chopped ham added, few potatoe chips
D: Salmon, side of homemade mac & cheese, peas, and small side of thai noodles

Total calories: 1500

So- hope everyone is going great, and had a great weekend. :)

ps- my avator pic of me is when i was thinner around 135 lbs at my bridal shower in 2004, that is my goal, and i cant wait to get back. The pic is for inspiration! :)

Hi there ~ hope I didnt scare anyone off :)

I am down today to 156.... back to normal weight... now for the weightloss to begin!

So far im around 1000 cals for day, havent had any dinner yet- but am always alittle bit hungry.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep hunger at bay ??
 
Hi, well done for getting back on track. How many calories are you having per day? If you aim for too few, you will find you are always hungry, and your weightloss will stall that much sooner.

Otherwise, I have found changing the kind of things I eat has helped a lot. I make sure I eat plenty of bulky low calorie foods that fill me up. Fibre is a great one because it fills you up without adding any calories.

The other thing that might help is making sure you have a good breakfast. I find this really helps for the rest of the day.
 
ack! I need to be here...

I have been as low as 135 (a year ago thanksgiving) and as high when I started as 172 (2 years ago). But I'm back up to 152, and I have got to lose weight before my wedding in August. B/c otherwise my oh-so-beautiful and expensive dress will not fit! yikes!

I started gaining weight again last october, dealing with the death of my grandpa and way too many homemade casseroles and then it got cold and I stopped exercising, and well, you get the picture. I had been hanging steady around 145 when I went on vacation - good food, hanging out at the beach, and I come back and i'm 152... and it's not going away!

So i'm hitting the calorie counting and the exercise hard core. I have got to get out the door and go to the gym right now!!!!!!
 
I'm at 154 today at weigh in. Two pound weight gain from last week. Hopefully it's muscle cuz my pants are looser. One day at a time.
 
I think I'm at breakthrough!!

Hi everybody!
I've been under 150 now for about a week & 1/2!
Today I was 149, but I spent yesterday in bed, so it will probably be better than that if I eat healthily for a few days!
C'mon, if I can get there, so can you! (believe me!!)
Eat healthy, move, and move on down the scale!!

congrats cool cat!

I did not do so good over the weekend. I'm scared to step on the scale b/cf fi know it will say that I have gained another pound or two. But I have started today off fine - got to the gym and made it happen =)
 
^ Don't worry about it! You'll lose it in no time, just focus!!! :D

I got weighed today. Was 157 last week, and I'm now 155! YAY ME :D
 
Hello all my 150s pals! I'm at 151.75 today so conceivably, possibly, perhapsedly, I'll be in the 140s club next week. Stranger things have been known to happen! Kick butt this week everyone!

Ha ha I'm 150 today so I am happy to report I will be in this club for another week. What the heck? This club or the 140s...it's all good. Keep working hard everyone. It's so worth it.
 
Woo Hoo everyone!

Wow! You are all doing great! I need you over at the 140's club. I'm all alone so far...
I had a big weekend, but I actually did okay and didn't gain. When everyone had steaks and prime rib, I had an appetiser of shrimp cocktail for my meal and I had a salad like everyone else to start. I was so proud of myself. I did have a coffee nudge for dessert, and helped someone else finish their creme brulee. :p

Hey guys, just thoght I would pop in to see how everyone was doing. Couldn't find a "160s" club. Oh how I would love to be where you are now. Looks like by the time I get here offically, you guys will have all left!
