Foot pain keep me off my feet

This is so frustrating. I'm finally starting to see some major changes in myself. I have a very strict exercise schedule and I've been doing a great job sticking to it. Until 2 weeks ago... I stepped out of bed and pain shot through my foot and up my leg. My heel has been killing me. I've stopped exercising and things aren't getting any better. Anyone have any suggestions to deal with this? I'm so scared about losing everything I have worked towards so far. I'm desperate! Thank you!

Hey the best advice I can give you is to see a doctor por physiotherapist about it. Its possible it may be a bad sptrain or sprain but its also possible you may have damaged you're achilles. The foot has so many sall bones that are ewasy to damage so it maybe worth while trying to get an xray. HTH

Oh, also temporarily you could try strapping your heel with a comporession bandage, also have you tried wither heat or ice theerapy.

Start out by putting ice on your foot, 15 minutes off, 15 minutes on. Do this for 3 days. It can help with inflammation/healing.

See a doctor. I started out walking for 2 hours at 225 lbs, and I hurt my foot. It killed for a while, but now the pain is gone. What may help you temporarily is to tape your foot with sports tape. Heel pain can be plantar fasciitis (it can manifest as heel pain or arch pain). The way you tape your foot is to stretch your foot fully with your toes pointing upward, and in this stretched position you put a lot of tape along your whole foot from the toes to the heels. It would give you some support.

Consider also wearing inserts in your shoes, start with OTC but definitely see a specialist because you may need to have them custom made.

It can take a while to heal. It took me about a month before it stopped hurting. Don't put additional stress on your foot. Consider an exercise like swimming!

Thanks for the advice! After shopping around for a bit, I picked up a pair of OTC inserts over the weekend. I found a 2 for 1 pack at Costco for cheaper than any other "orthotic" insole around. Is there anything that place doesn't sell? I'm going to take some short walks with them this week. It really helped to feel some kind of support under my foot.. Hopefully this is the solution. ::fingers crossed::

Remember though, there are two things to consider.

The pain comes from two things, 1. An injury and 2. The thing which caused the problem in the first place.

If you manage to find out what caused the problem, deal with that, get special shoes, refine your technique, whatever it may be. But remember that if you have caused an actual injury you will need to rest and repair that before you can expect the original pain to go away in full and not become irritated by whatever you do.
