flax seed oil capsules

Hi.

I recently bought some flax seed oil caplets. How much should I be taking?
Each capsule contains 1000mg of flax seed oil. Currently I'm taking 4 in the morning and 3 at night. Is this enough? Too much? Too little?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

one serving of flax oil (the actual oil not the capsules) has:

Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA) 7700 mg

Linoleic Acid (omega-6) 2100 mg

Oleic Acid (omega-9) 2600 mg

2 flax oil capsules have:

Alpha-Linolenic Acid (ALA) (omega-3) 1.1 g

Linoleic Acid (omega-6) 280 mg

Oleic Acid (omega-9) 290 mg

check to see how yours matches up. you will have to take a good number of them to match the oil.

bah forget the oil just go to a health foods store buy some flax seeds get a coffee grinder and grind them up and add them to protein shakes or oatmeal and just store it in the fridge it tastes great.

Thanks for the advice.
Does it actually taste good?
I heard that the oil is really bad tasting, which is why I bought the capsules.

I hear they taste like garbage. Never had them myself though, I try to stay away from food that make people look like they just got kicked in the shins.

true, the flax seed itself is a great food. i use the oil because i just want the good fats, i already have enough fiber in my diet

believe me :D
