flavored water

im beginning to try to get in better shape and i decided the first step is to stop drinking soda and more water...as an alternative ive been drinking dasani lemon water, i was wondering if this is useless or if its still giving me the same effects that regular water would?

No matter what the water has in it its still water. If you need to have some flavour to get it down its all good the sugar in a lemon is fructose so dont worry to much about absorbtion in lipids.

Nothing is better than pure spring water.

I dont know of the drink you mentioned but look at the lable to find out whats in it.

If it has more than 2g of carbs then its no good.
if it has dextrose, aspatame, sweeterners, any Enumbers i.e. (E103), glucose syrup, citric acid, then its no good.

you should only be drinking water and fruit (from consentrate is ok)

You may also like to look in to Chinese green tea.

Rather tan buying flavored water youd be better off with a cordial. So you can just add a bit to your water.

That way its the same as buying flavored drinks but 1/8th of the cost

according to a nutrition website it has:

Purified water, citric acid, natural flavors, sodium polyphosphates, potassium sorbate and potassium benzoate (to protect taste), sucralose, magnesium sulfate, acesulfame potassium, potassium chloride, salt.

ideally, pure water is what you want to drink.. but if you absolutely can't stand drinking regular water, then this is OK. contrary to the quackery that you hear about sucralose (Splenda) being dangerous, it will not have any negative effects on you.

Splenda not bad for you?

I'll bet it is bad for you. Who cares though? If you hate water *I do* then you NEED a substitute. Plus, even if Splenda is bad for you, the tiny amount in the flavored water is better than the huge amount in diet coke *my drink of choice*. Go for the flavored water if you need it. Propel is a good brand too. I love Propel
