Hi,
I am new to the website. Does anyone know anything about fitness competitions? My goal (I know it is a big one) is to compete in a model fitness competition in May. I have six months and a long way to go, but I really want to do it. Looking for anyone who know about this and the daily diet followed

Thanks to anyone that can help:) .

That is a pretty awesome goal...though I don't know much about these contests outside of what I've read in my fitness mags. I admire your determination and I wish I could help you more. I'll google some stuff and see what I come up with. This is very exciting and I'd love to cheer you on as you work towards this! :)

If you don't mind my asking, where are you now in regard to your fitness level?

Hi,
Thanks for your response. I hadn't seen the wikipedia site on the competition, but thanks. The only difference in the competition I will be competing in is there are no dance portion/gymnastics, just swimsuit and some other attire. I am a ways away from where I need to be to compete. I need to lose about 12 pounds, but that is just part of it . Toning and building some muscle is going to be my major focus. My diet has to be very clean. It has to be balanced , no white flours , hydrogenated fats, etc. I am working on figuring that out. I have also been substituting shirataki noodles(not tofu) in place of my pasta, which I love so much. It fills me up and it is made of yams , no fat and no carbs.

Maybe I should post before and after pictures.

Thanks for the support and your info.

shirataki noodles

Hmmm, had never heard of those. I just googled them...don't you just love google? :p They seem very interesting.

I wish you the best of luck on your journey. Have you considered starting a diary? I'd love to follow along!

you can check out liftforlife.com - it's a natural body building site, but they also have good links to articles about fitness, etc. check out the forum too, b/c the creator of the forum is always around and gives great advice. good luck!

Thanks for the liftforlife website I will check it out. Also, check out the miraclenoodle.com website if you are googling the shirataki noodles. Those are the ones I like plus they have some good recipes. I think I have found a trainer to start working with me for the fitness competition. I will definitely start a diary, before and after pictures and a food diary. It all begins on Monday. It should be an interesting journey.

Thanks for your help and support.

Hey I have also recently set a goal to compete in a fitness competition, as well as complete a marathon. Good luck to you, let me know how your doing....and if you have any tips for me let me know! Thanks
