Fitness after 4

Thanks She, I did cardio today, went with a Billy Blanks Tae Bo video. Two down and 4 to go. I really think that working out 6 days a week is optimal. It is just finding time in my day. I prefer to run, but it is getting dark so early and some mornings I am up at 4:30am just for work. I need to make this work for my own sense of well-being. I have a little bit of stress from being a working mom and I am alot more fun when I feel good about myself. Nutrition wise I am doing great today. Eating well and sticking to what is good for me.

After a long exhausting day without a break I managed to squeeze in upper body, my arms are so tired it is difficult to type lol. But tired is good. My stress is under control and I have been keeping up with a hectic schedule that my have previously really thrown me for a loop. I ate well today I think around 12 calories. My protein for dinner stunk, but it was the best I could do tonight. At least I had a salad with the hot dog ;-) The rest of the day was great. I am now 3 days down out of 6 for my exercise plan. Halfway there!!!!

Supper sounds good...lol. Salads go with everything. It just depends on what you put on it.

Try turkey hot dogs. I think they are good, plus I really don't tell a difference between those and other dogs.

So far this week I have done well. I did have birthday cake on Wednesday, a well planned treat, my twins had a blast. We are hving a roller skating party tomorrow, 20 second graders will be there lol. I did not do cardio on Wednesday as I ran out of time, so now I will make up for it on Saturday. Otherwise I have stuck to my plans. I am very pleased with my week so far. I am eating within reason, not perfect, but at least very good. I have had a little trouble with fatigue, but I am hoping a routine will help. Having my plans written down definately made the difference last night, I almost bailed on exercise and my husband said " if you don't exercise I will have to listen to it, so get up and get going", I did!

Well I did lower body yesterday, I have to say I always feel great after my lower body workout. Deadlifts, squats, and lunges really work well for me, I also do some calve exercises and a pretty intense ab routine. I took some comparison pictures last night and compared them to my starting pics. I am definately seeing changes. I still have a ways to go. I am amazed at how quickly some people are able to cut weight. Although my goal is not to diet but to change the way I eat forever, I am of the opinion I will reach a weight that is ideal using this method. I do cut about 500 calories off my total required at the advise of many great people on this board and as a result I actually am eating more than I did before I started and still cutting weight. I was down about 8 lbs total last week, I am averaging about a pound a week. I need to lose about 8 more pounds to get my body fat to where I can see my abs. I am concerned that my ab goals may be impossible. When I had my first baby, they thought I had a diastasis in my rectus abdominus muscle. If I do it is mild, but the baby weighed 9lbs 7 oz and I am petite framed so I guess I shouldn't be shocked. Time to stop rambling ;-)

The birthday party went well, 28 kids!! I got quite the workout holding several while roller skating. My only transgression was a cupcake lol. Overall a great week. I am sure I have lost a little weight this week, guessing a pound or so. My clothes are much looser so I can definately see progress. I am not sure about body fat or inches, but I will measure them later today. I am guessing I weigh 135lbs, have to see what the scale says.

Well according to the scale I am at 133lbs! I actually think my metabolism is finally picking up again. I have 5 pounds to go to my goal weight and then I will decide from there where my goal should be next. I am trying to reduce my body fat enough to see my abs. I have focused a little more on weight training this week to increase energy expenditure. I also increased my protein and calories as I was more hungry this week and I still lost weight ;-) I guess these concepts about food and exercise are all they are cracked up to be!

Today was great. Yesterday I had an awesome upper body workout and did tae bo flex today. I really am starting to see measurable progress. It is very exciting to be able to see the changes. I do think I may need to up my calories. I am noticing that it is not holding me as well not sure how much to go up by though, will have to research that. Here is the rest of this week as I see it:

Wednesday : lower body
Thursday: cardio
Friday: Upper body
Saturday: cardio
Sunday: rest, coach kids soccer

Today I had about 1350 calories and did really well with it.

Well lets see, Thurday and Friday I had no exercise due to my schedule. Thursday was convocation, not home form work till 11pm and yesterday we took the kids out to eat, shopping, bought a cool guitar game for the playstation and instead of working out we rocked out lol. I may have gained weight this week, although diet was great and I actually stuck to the good stuff at the restaurant. I weigh in tomorrow, time will tell. I did have two light beers last night, but well worth it ;-) Today I will do cardio for sure!

Yesterday went ok. Had an asthma attack while running (yuck). LUckily I had some albuterol hanging around, haven't needed it in a long time. My asthma is reactive and only occurs this time of the year when I get exposed to the lovely things I am allergic too. Eating wise I did fair, quantity was okay, but way to high the carb department. Weighed in this morning at 132lbs which is down a pound since last week. I thought for sure I would gain, but am pleased to see I am still going in the right direction. Here is my plan for the week.

Soccer was a blast!

Diet goal: Refine diet to ensure better protein.

Monday: cardio
Tuesday: lower body
Wenesday: cardio
THursday: Upper body
Friday: cardio
Saturday: lower body
Sunday:coach kids soccer

Doing well, I had a great lower body workout yesterday and am planning to do tae-bo tonight. I am definately seeing progress and people at work are noticing that I have lost weight and toned up. I am amazed at how easy it is to keep this up now that I have a routine. I am actually much less stressed despite a very hectic schedule. Anyone know off hand what percentage of body fat I will need to se ab definition? I know I have them, but I think they are hidden. I checked my body fat this week and I am at 17.6% based on calipers.

Did upper body tonight. I had all I could do to finish it. I am so tired today. I hope I am not catching the crud all my students have at the college. I am really starting to notice progress and I don't want to screw it up. Eating has become simple. I tend to be a little boring. Today I got creative and made chili with ground turkey, surprisingly good I might add!

Try meatloaf w/turkey. It's not bad. Haven't had chili with turkey.
