Hi everyone! Just a quick intro... I want to lose this weight by July 1st 2008, I plan on getting there by working out three times a week and making healthy food choices. My boyfriend and I are on this mission together, although he has a significantly higher amount to lose.
I made the decision to start living a healthier lifestyle after watching an episode of the Biggest Loser and thinking to myself that if they can do it then surely I can too! I know it sounds corny, but I am feeling very motivated. Also, my boyfriend wants to join the RCMP and to do so he needs to be in good shape. Right now he is 250 lbs, he would like to lose 60 lbs.
My biggest obstacle between myself and getting in shape will be my love of all things sweet. I love chocolate, breads, and buttered popcorn... if I can find a way to control my cravings for those than I will be ok. Also, my boyfriend is not fully dedicated just yet and sometimes it is discouraging to watch him destroy his chances of progress. I am hoping I can be a good model to him and inspire him to stick with it!
Growing up my parents allowed me to eat whatever i wanted whenever I wanted... they never taught me the difference between unhealthy and healthy foods. This led to me always being the 'chubby' girl growing up. Starting in highschool I started to eat "healthier", but I have always had a weakness for certain foods which has always kept me a little chubby.
So here I am today, 155 lbs. I am ready to tackle this and make the life commitment to living healthy.
Today I have done pretty good nutrition wise. This is what I have eaten:
Cereal (special K)
Small glass of juice
Chicken stir-fry
orange
apple
2 rice cakes
20 raw almonds
Sunchips
Chicken stuffed pita (loaded with veggies with taziki sauce)
1/2 cup trail mix (mostly nuts and raisins)
popsicle (50 calorie kind)
Wow.... when I write it all out like that is sounds like alot more than I thought I ate! I do not like to count calories, takes to long and results in me being overly obsessive about what I eat. I would rather just eat (healthy foods) when I am hungry and stop when i am full. I have a Siberian Husky so my exercise today has primarily been a 10 min walk with him. Although I would like to exercise more today I dont think it will happen. I have home workout videos I enjoy, I will likely do one tomorrow morning before class.
Anyways, that's enough rambling for now. I am sure no one is reading at this point anyways!
