Hello everyone I'm fairly new to the forum. Just wanted to pop in and say hi.
I'm currently 21 and I've been large for as long as I can remember (I only have 1 childhood photo of me being normal weight which was around age 7). A little over a year ago I hit around 310lbs and it sent me into a serious depression. I hated to go out in public and almost always wore a coat to cover up my body. And I was wearing a 3x shirt, 54 waist and was about to switch to 4x and 56!
I made myself a new years resolution to lose weight, which I didn't really think too much into until someone I had recently met said something to me that really hit me deep. "I would definitely date you if you weren't so big". After that, it haunted me for a while and I couldn't take anymore. I knew I needed to lose weight NOW. I struggled for a while because of all the information and different things about losing weight on the internet, but eventually I fell into a nice groove along with a full-time physical job unloading trucks.
I eventually lost contact with that friend, but all my co-workers noticed my weight loss and always mentioned it. All the weight loss gave me boosted confidence and I even went on a date with a very attractive co-worker. And for the first time in years I went swimming in a pool without a shirt!
I stopped losing weight after I lost my job, and now after moving I've decided I need to continue. I've been thinking about following something called Precision Nutrition and it sounds very promising. Either way, I'm at 220 now and I have 60 to go! It's not about the weight really, but just seeing my body slim down into my dream body.
To anyone who lacks motivation, trust me the results pay off. I can fit into an XL shirt now, all my old pants aren't even wearable, I can actually have fun doing physical activity without feeling like I'm going to die, and I have a lot more energy and feel happier now.
Oh and if anyone wants to PM, AIM, or email to keep each other motivated, feel free to contact me
