few questions

Ive been going to the gym now for about a month and a half. thats the only time ive ever spent in a gym. My questions are 1) i put together a split of chest/biceps one day, back/triceps, another day and legs/shoulders the last day. Along with 30 minutes on the elpitical each day. And abs thrown into one of the days. Should i be working out this way or should i just be doing all muscle groups every day since im a beginner. 2) should i be doing the aerobic work out before or after i lift? I heard that if you do it after you get a better lift bc you arent tired and stuff? and 3) If i should follow that split is that a good split?

I go to the gym every other day and take the weekends off. Ive only been doing this split for a week. The first month i went i just did each muscle group every other day or whenever i went. Thanks.

1.) You should never work all of your muscles every single day
2.) A full-body workout is more suitable for a beginner, Not the split your doing
3) Aerobic work should be on seperate days; but if you must do it after you lift

Thats all I can answer for now. If you could list some stats and goals I could give you more advice.

i didnt work my whole body everyday, i usually would do it 2 to 3 times a week. Never two days in a row. My goals are to just slim down and to be better toned. Not huge. Right now i have muscles and not much flab aside from my stomach. So im just trying to tone up the muscles i do have all over and of course shape up my stomach.

So your saying i should do a full body work out every other day and the days i dont do that i should do aerobics? I dont really know if i can get to the gym 5 days a week so ill probably most likely do the aerobics the same days i go to the gym. But maybe only like monday and friday? instead of mon, wed, fri?

Yeah, a full body workout would probably be better being a beginner. That is what I am doing. Try to focus more on compound movements as well.

I have a question as well and thought i could ask it here instead of making a new thread. I am currently doing FBW 3 x per week and i'm sticking to compound exercises. By doing lat pulldowns, for example, would I be working my biceps just as hard as an isolation exercise for them or should i add in the isolation exercise at the end of workout. But i usually run out of time. This applies to other muscles, for instance triceps. I do bench press and is that working them enough. I want to get nice big strong arms and just curious about this. Thanks
