Festivals and food

I'm attending a couple of music festivals this summer, the stay-and-camp-for-the-weekend type ones, and the first is in two weeks and it suddenly hit me that food may be a problem as I don't plan on spending a weekend living on extortionately priced burgers and chips.

So I'm wondering does anyone have any food ideas more interesting than a weekend of raw veggies and fruit? And any ideas on how to store it/keep it fresh by the 3rd day?

Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated. :)

Will you have cooler access and the abillity to replenish ice in the cooler?

Will you have cooking facilities - even a pot and a campfire?

Canned foods -
Granola
Crackers

i'd also insist on s'mores a uniquely american scouting tradition that is making it's way overseas...

Graham crackers (similar ro your digestive biscuit but a little thinner)
marshmallows, toasted ona campfire
and chocolate...

I did think of getting a small camping stove, but my boyfriend pointed out it's likely to get stolen, or used by a drunk to set something alight, so that's probably a no unfortunately.

I'm planning on digging out our cooler, but as far as ice replinishment goes I'm not hopeful, although I can't be certain as I've never been to this particular festival before.

I [stupidly] didn't consider cans, I'll have to have a long stroll down the can aisle in the supermarket.

dont' forget a can opener :)

And heavy duty storage bags - preferably of the zipper top variety - to pack foods in that could get wet when it rains.. ( me and camping always equaled rain.. :D

No, Download, it's not really my type of music but it's a compromise, if I go to it with my boyfriend he'll come to Reading with me, haha.

Thanks for the tips Mal, I'm dreading it will rain, and knowing English weather it will. :(
