Good afternoon fellow fitness freaks this is my first post of many so I’d love to get some advice from individuals who are committed to living a healthy life style to see if I’m on the right path. I’ll start off with a little recap and a little about myself. I’m 26 weigh 154 and am a recovering drug addict (cocaine is a hella of a drug) been sober two and a half years now and have taken my addiction to living a healthy lifestyle. When I was 20 I was very skinny like 118 pounds had no confidence and what not and did a cycle of test 250 and got big to 160 pounds, got my fake confidence and fake friends and fell into drugs (this was during the mortgage boom so money came easy) lost everything as well as my health and I guess the old cliché goes here I am now. About a year ago I decided it’s time to start treating my body for the temple it is. By this time I had blossomed up to 182 pounds (wasted my money on drugs it was only a matter of time before I ate the best of the best Los Angeles had to offer : ) so I started to take vitamins and watch what I ate.
The vitamins I started with was
Calcium Magnesium complex: I found out I was lactose and tolerant so no more dairy, was suffering since I was a child and just found out last year ant that a bitch, always wondered why I was farting up a strom.
New chapter daily one a days: my multi vitamin
Iron: Stop eating beef didn’t want to lose the iron
Omega 3 fatty acids: about three a day
Ester c vitamin C: About 1000mg
Bacteria: For the dairy I had in my past life
(And hallelujah no more gas, man that **** is embarrassing)
I started with cardio cause my lungs were shoot dead I mean I couldn't run up stairs to grab my cell phone without getting tired. I now am up to five miles without stopping or 3 miles at 22 min. I lost all the added weight and got to like 160. It’s been two weeks were I'm like I need to go back to lifting weights and started hitting the gym. My working out consists of:
Monday through Saturday:
I do my cardio in the morning an intense 3 mile run around a lake and mountains and finish with 30 minutes of stretching, ****ing in love with stretching could touch my toes four months ago and now can lay my palms down on the ground.
Monday I do back and chest finish with 5 minutes of abbs
Tuesday I do Bi’s, tri’s and hamstrings
Wedsnesday I do shoulders, legs and finish with 5 minutes straight abbs.
Take Thursday off and start the process again.
My diet consists of:
Protien shake at 6:30 am before run (isopure 50 mg shake)
After cardio three organic brown eggs with organic greens, green beans, green peas and corn, cotco is starting to set up their organic game. (try to eat as much organic as possible I haven’t been the same since watching FOOD Inc.)
Then I make my food for the day b 4 I go to work
Three turkey sandwiches with red roasted hummus and spinach instead of any lettice (I know its very plan)
Two peanut butter with honey and cinnamon (its soooo good if you haven’t tried it)
A small bag of almonds for a snack and a Zone protein bar that has 14 g’s of protein.
I eat one of my sandwiches b 4 I lift and have a protein shake when I’m done lifting.
With my calculations I intake 175 grams of protein.
I make sure I get my greens, nuts and fiber every day and main food groups.
I haven’t cheated in over 3 months and when I mean cheated if it taste good I probably didn’t eat it
I drink half a gallon of water a day too.
My questions are
1. Is my routine right? Cardio and lifting?
2. Is my diet right?
3. How much protein should I intake? Cause I’ve lost 6 pounds in 10 days I know I’m doing double days but I taking a lot of protein.
4. Am I taking the right vitamins?
5. This is a new diet I’ve been on since April 1st, it has a lot to do with the fact I work 11 hour days too its convient.
I WOULD LOVE ALL INPUT , I can be your guys guinea peg lol : )
