so i feel a little uncomfortable about being a member to a forum about weight loss, i guess i always thought it was me giving up and admitting im overweight. but after i looked around this site for a few minutes i realized it wasn't just about people with a weight problem it was for anyone wanting to be healthier. and im hopping i could get some good advice from all you people out there in internet land 
so my story:
im a 18(almost 19) senior in high school. im at about 6'1" to 6'3" and around 290. i play football so not many people tell me i need to lose weight(having a big guy like me on the field really helps) but ive always been a little self conscious about my weight and ive always wanted to shed some pounds. now that football seasons over i figure itd be a good time to get in shape and build some strength for when i go out for training camp at college.
its not that i want to get super lean and ripped in a short amount of time i just want to get into the habit of healthy eating and regular exercise.
i work great with encouragement so i figured if i make posts here and get some comments and feedback that will really help me stick with it.
