Hello all!

I guess I am sort of a newcomer here, technically I joined in 07, and every now and again I'll come on here meander about a little bit, then vow to start dieting then obviously itnever happens, then I get fatter again :( So I figure, you see all these great people on here who have lost TONS of weight and everyone is really supportive so I figured if I joined this it might help me that bit more.

Bit about myself, have always been a little chubby, always could of shed say 10kg (22lbs) but in the last couple of years I have just gained alot, about 20kg (45lbs), firstly due to a unhealthy work environment, and then I was travelling for the year which is just constant drinking etc. My stats are:

19yo, fem and I weight 92kg. Oh and I'm 5'8 or 174cm

Ideally I'd like to be 60kg. I've cut back my calorie intake, and I want to join a gym, however I just recently moved cities, so I am a bit poor lol so the gym/buying new trainers as I currently have none is making that a bit hard!

But if anyone has any advice, tips etc (I'm a late night binger/emotional eater) or just want to say hello!! I'll eat up your words instead of food!!

Hi there! Nice to meet you! I'm Jack.

I've lost some weight using calorie restriction. It's painful but if you can survive the first couple of weeks it gets easier.

Im currently on my 12th day of portion control and my body has already adjusted to it. At first it is a bitch, the calorie counting, the cravings but i just had lunch which is about 1/2 the size i would usually eat and im am sooooo full.

In theory it is pretty simply, but in practise it is harder. I refuse to fork out money for the gym when i know anything i would do there i can do at home.

Hi there! I am new to this forum (as of today!) but your post struck a cord with me!

I am also a late night/binge eater. I am fine to control my portions all through the day until 10:30pm hits...then it's DANGERZONE! Ha! I will eat everything and anything. I have a very, very hard time with moderation in the evening for some reason. I also can not afford a gym membership or personal trainer at this time. I purchased an elliptical off craigslist a few years back when I was taking care of myself but it became my coat hanger! :( I got back on the wagon and started working out two weeks ago by doing a workout video for an hour a night/6 nights a week and a few times a week getting my butt on that darn elliptical for as long as I can take it( which is NOT long!). But, I find that if I work out at night, I'm less likely to binge eat at my usual 10:30pm time because I'm so proud of myself for getting off my butt that I don't want to ruin all the hard work!

Just from browsing the forums today, I have found many inspirational stories to motivate me and wonderful tips! Take a look around, it's fab!

All the best!

Welcome both of you!

I was the same, i just started a few weeks ago. But once you see results all the hunger will be worth it. It does go away.
I was the same. I ate everything. As for emotional. I had a nasty break up that caused that. But i believe in you! Its a lot of hard work and i broke down a few times. You need a support system. (this forum is amazing for support your not alone :) )
As for a gym membership, why dont you start with a good ol' walk. Get your mp3 on your hip and start walking. It's free :) Summer is coming up and nature is beautiful!
Good luck and share your progress :) we'll help you every step of the way!
