Fatboy not so slim

Hiya folks,

I'm out here in Chicago trying to shed the lard that I've allowed to myself to add to my frame. I'm 5'11 38years old and now weigh 296, which is better then the 325 I started with in January:11doh:. I'm trying to get myself back to at least 240 (I was 220 when I was in the army).
So I'm hoping for some tips on putting on some more muscle as I try to shred the body-fat. Any suggestion are welcome.
 
Hey that sounds great! But you can't really put on Muscle as you lose fat. Because as to gain muscle you must eat more calories than you need in a day while to lose fat you must eat less. You can still lift weights though because the training still helps you lose weight. But you should mostly do cardio to lose some weight first. If you are just starting to weight lift you'll get stronger for the first two weeks even if you do diet.
