Fat

Hi guys,
I have a question regarding my progress in fat loss. I lost some fat around my chest but i was wandering will it be true that i might not lose fat around my tummy untill i lose fat somewhere else like my thighs. I mean it could be that its my thighs turn to lose fat or something LOL right :)

Thanks guys :)

you cant spot reduces (it sucks i know) so yeah you will need to lose weight everywere else befor you lose weight on your stomach.

I actually like to have thick thighs.....so that sucks, having skinny thighs with a gut....not a pretty sight....Wouldn't you rather have nice thick thighs with no stomach? That's sexy....I actually want to know a way in which girls can gain fat in their thighs, or at least make it look thicker....

Not losing fat

I'm wondering, you don't lose fat when you exercise and sweat, right? I just want tone, not lose fat....

Your body chooses where it stores all of its fat. Just try normal fat loss techniques and it will all work out in the end.
There are a hundred ways to lose weight and each way will have a book at your local librairy describing it in explict detail so you can get whatever body you want. Just do not wait for the problem to fix itself. that willonly make it worse. Get out there right now and some somthing wonderful for yourself every day hereforth as far as what you eat and how you spend your day. You all have different goals dispite your similar problems. When you decide what you want to do about it this site will still be here to help you out

Just remember that pilates and stretching will not help you drop weight.

Each of you may start a thread saying
what you want
what you eat/ how you work out right now
what you are willing to do
what problems you expect to encounter

And we can all help you from there

Toning is actually called the 'Myogenic tone of the the muscle' and it's directly related to how much fat the body is carrying. So when you say you want to "tone up" you're actually saying you want to decrease your fat mass or lose fat. :)

TATA, eat less and move more.

Yes, like someone said....move more and eat less. But don't overdo it.
We all want to loose those extra pounds fast, but the truth is that's not the right way to go.
Think of a healthy diet, but not too restrictive or you won't be able to go on with it, you'll feel bad about yourself for it...and you'll end up giving it up in no time. Be realistic!
Same thing about exercising....try the ones that you like best, and don't bust yourself doing it. It's better to start with a lower intensity, but for a longer period of time.

It will not be as fast as you want, but the pounds will eventually come off. You will loose fat primarily...and not muscle. So it will be easier to maintain the "new look". On the contrary...if you loose weight too fast....you will loose muscle primarily....the fat will remain there. Which will give you a floppier look....and the risk of gaining all the pounds lost and MORE (more fat, no tone on your muscles). Be patient!

Good Luck :)

unfortunately you can't decide or choose where oyu want to lose fat. It all has to do with your hormones, which dictate where you are most prone to store fat, and which of your fat deposits will be the last to mobilize

Let's load the abdominal muscles, as a result of temperature increase in this area fat faster would be to go into the blood

Body Fat Loss

Regardless of the activity you choose, walking around the block or running track, the fuel your body uses for energy comes from burning mostly fat and carbs. Most of the time your body burns a mix of both fat calories and carb calories. Hence, for every calorie burned, the fuels are around a 50/50 split of both fat and carbs.

The level of intensity during exercise will determine which fuel your body will use. Carbs typically are used for a quick energy source, so for example, a sprint will utlize carbs for fuel. For longer, lower intensity activities, you'll find that fats are the perfered fuel. Do note, it's not that you use one or the other, it's just the type of fuel you use, shifts based on activity.

More specifically, you'll burn more fat for aerobic and carbs for anerobic.

I hope that helps.

spot reduction is almost impossible. there is no one exercise that you can do to flatten your stomach or shrink your hips, butt, back, legs or arms. you must do total body movements like the squat, deadlift or even push-ups. these exercises GREAT for Men & Women and are NOT going to "bulk you up". they will actually help you build lean muscle tissue and this will help you burn fat!

I would suggest supersetting or interval training. it combines strength training(for building lean muscle tissue) and cardio(for fat burning). you don't need any fancy equipment or an expensive gym membership.

example: squats, push-ups, pull-ups, mountain climbers(if you can't do a push-up or pull-up=> use dumbbells or resistance bands & do a pushing exercise and a pulling exercise instead). do 15 reps of each back to back to back to back without resting. that equals 1 set. rest 30-60 secs. repeat. do 3-5 complete sets. Do this 3-4x/week.

these are very fast and effective workouts that won't have you spending hours in the gym!

Hope this helps!
