Hello everybody. Big guy here who just got engaged 3 weeks ago. I'm 6 foot just shy of 300 pounds. I need to get into shape before my honeymoon night where someone will have to look at my butt-naked self. Wedding is not till march 5th so I think if I commit to it then I can make a decent change by then. Here looking for info because I don't really know where to start.

Hi

Congratulations on getting engaged!

With the wedding in march you have plenty of time to lose a lot of weight and getting healthy

Take your time to look around the site, as there is lots of help and advice to be had here

While you are doing this I would suggest some things you could do immediatly which would help you get off to a good start

You're a big guy so I'd have thought about 2200 calories a day should be a good amount for you to start losing weight. It may be hard at first but you'll soon find foods, such as carrots, oatmeal, etc, which are very few in calories but which fill you up nicely.

Some things are just terrible for diets, so try to take them out of your food intake completely. These include alcohol, sweets, fast food, mayonaise, cheese. I know they are lovely, but it has to be done.

Try and walk for an hour a day. You can split this up into 2 lots of half an hour for the first week.

You've got plenty of time to lose the weight, but a diet has to be well planned with the right info.

all the best

Thanks for the welcome. I don't really have an exact weight in mind more of an idea not to look gross and scare her off on our wedding night haha. Having moons smaller than hers would be nice lol. I just joined a gym so I got that going for me. Also doing away with fried food sodas and cheese. I don't really dri k so that's not a prob to give up. I enjoy mountain biking and am trying to get more into that as well as backpacking. I will also be taking a new job the month after we get married and be moving to cocoa beach in fl so I'd like to be able to take my shirt off and not have children run and women cry haha. Thanks for the advice everyone.
