fat gain

well, I have been keeping track of what I eat, and on an average day, here is my intake:

Key Lime Yogurt 170 cals 15 from fat
3 cups apple juice 330 cals 0 from fat
2 sqi cheddar cheese 220 cals 160 from fat
2 tortillas 240 cals 60 from fat

Breakfast total

Callories 850
callories from fat 235

Snack

2 Cookies 170 cals 70 from fat
Key Lime Yogurt 170 cals 15 from fat
2 sqi munster cheese 220 cals 160 from fat
Can of Coca-Cola 140 cals 0 from fat

-total calories 1660
-total fat calories 480
-------------------------------------------------------------

I know that there is more to nutrition than just calories and calories from fat, but this is fairly basic. Note that this is just one day as well. As stated I am trying to gain weight.{usualy there is a dinner, but that didn't happen on the day this was recorded.} But I can't seem to gain any weight. Any suggestions? my fat intake is about 18% of what I eat, is that to low? Any suggestions would be helpfull, thanks =} {oh and I have read the ectomorph page abear has shown me before...twice actualy.} I weigh about 125 and have actualy lost weight the last two months.

.........your trying to gain weight? then you should be eating like double that, especially if your an ectomorph.
 
yeah, you dont want to gain fat weight either. dont eat fatty foods. Eat high protein high calorie meals, but try to keep them clean cals. try to take in 1 gram of protein for every lb of bodyweight, and lift weights. it takes time
 
aye, I don't exactly have weights or the means to get any. But all I realy want to do is gain weight so I don't look so dangerously thin. I don't really care to weigh like 200 lbs, I'm looking to get to like 140 tops. Then when it becomes realistic to get weights get them then.
 
getting high calorie meals that are good for you too dont have to be real expensive, if you research the types of basics you'll need on here you'll see a lot of stuff is things you may already have. i'd ditch the sodas, BTW. good luck!
 
The food isn't an issue, they just said get weights which I can't really get my hands on. I know I can get whatever type of food I would want\need within reason. One last thing, yes I am ditching the soda, I am suprised I have gotten this far, one a day is REALLY good compaired to what I used to drink {up to and including 12 cans a day}. So I'm working on it okay?
 
Yea sounds good.. I was just saying hit the weights because you will gain some solid muscle. If you look really skinny and gain any muscle it will make you look shredded and in good shape. dont worry about the fat, that will come in time when your metabolism slows down with age, then you will be wishing it wasnt there :)
