According to this, we're all doing it wrong :svengo:

I was just browsing the net when i came across it and looked it claims:

Long, boring cardio exercise... four or even six times per week is the worst way to burn fat. If you know this little secret, it's now possible to burn five times the belly fat exercising just 45 minutes per week. Not per day... I said per week!

I just thought it was funny, they're basically saying everyone's doing it wrong

It's called the fat burning furnace, not really sure what its entirely about but it sounds like a load of bull to me.

Well the truth is that long boring bouts of cardio are the least effective way to lose weight. :D So there is *some* truth there.

But 45 mins a week? Nah. Not buying that one. :)

long boring cardio _is_ the worst way to lose fat. it's also the easiest. so for a lot of beginners it just might be the best if they are unable to push themselves.

The best by far is doing exercises that effectively hit the bodies atp-cp and lactic acid energy systems. I exercise 5 hours a week. My metabolism is freaking through the roof, like ~3300 calories per day from the exercises I do. This is well above what my metabolism was when I wasn't exercising at all. I can count on 1 hand the amount of minutes of cardio i've done in the last year...

Personally, I'm a fan of ordinary, old cardio in my own programming. But I'm not doing it for fat loss.

i agree with Steve. I am a fan of boring old cardio...although I DON"T find it boring. I love taking walks and doing work outs on the treadmill! I just strap on my ipod and let the music and my body take me away...really helps my stress levels and makes me feel good physically. I do cardio 5 or 6 days a week. I also do a little strength training 3 X's a week. All the cardio certainly played a big factor in my ability to lose and keep off over 35 pounds the past 6 months. With my age and declining metabolism, it was a necessity in dropping the weight!

I've actually tried FBF..

Hi there,

I actually started Fat Burning Furnace last week, and so far I like it.

To start off you don't do just 15 mins/ day... you start at about 30 mins/day 3x each week. 15 mins/day is for people at the intermediate/advanced level who are already burning fat.

The program is deceiving.. kind of like when I used to do Windsor Pilates. I started off with the 20 min work out expecting it to be easy, but it was anything but, and after doing it for a week I was hurtin'! Same kind of thing with the FBF exercises they don't seem like they'll do much, but you definitely feel it when you're done . I don't have access to a gym so I've been doing the FBW version of the plan (using my own body weight to create the resistance exercises).

Also, If you are doing the exercises like you're supposed to be doing them (at a 'brisk pace'), you do get your heart rate up. And, you can add in 30-45 mins of cardiovascular training if you find that you loose fat better that way. FBF promotes HIIT training ( High Intensity Interval Training).. i.e. alternating between walking, running, & sprinting for 20 mins.

So, are you going to lose fat doing the exercises half-a**ed and still eating crap? No, obviously not. Like anything, this program does not work miracles for you, you have to be devoted and give the program 100% to see results. Personally, I like it cause I hate dieting, I want to regain back the lean muscle mass I used to have when I was more active (I was a dancer), and I hate running.

It really is all up to the person though. If anyone has anymore questions feel free to ask!

Are you still following the FBF plan? I'm curious...thinking about trying it, but curious to know how you like it, what you liked/disliked about it, etc... Thanks.
Rebecca

So basically..you pay someone to tell you to exercise and eat healthy..? We can do that for you on this board, for free!:cheers2:

I am very skeptical about the Fat Burning Furnace people. They are clearly engaged in deceptive sales tactics.

I sat through their loooong voice/text slide show at their site. Then I decided to Google things like "Fat Burning Furnace scam" to see if anything showed up. There was actually a site call (REMOVED), supposedly by a satisfied customer who wanted to reassure people it was legit. But... just a little domain registration checking reveals that the site is registered by the same people who registered the main fat burning furnace site!

People who need to engage in deceptive tactics like that are clearly not legitimate.

Well even if everything can be found here for free it is still required to collect everything and do the exercises.

because it teaches you to create an effective combination of short but intensive workouts meant to help you burn off body fat ad gain lean muscle tissue which will boost your metabolism and the right nutritional guidelines to help feed your body in a good way without causing it to gain more and more fat.

Thanks al ot!

Just a thought. How many programs have you started - either going to a gym or working out at home? What was the reason you gave them up? I guess that most of us would have said either Cost?, Time constraints?, Family/work issues or No positive results?

Not many would say they were just bored. I agree that doing the same thing over and over again can be boring and the latest fad will then look very appealing (even it turns out to be a scam).

Maybe we need a program that picks the most interesting bits from FBF, WW, STF, JennyC, FLFI etc,.

Its an uphill battle to lose weight but so important to stay focused.

Does any weight loss program work? I mean you always see these sort of weight loss program all over tv and I am always skeptical of these programs. I tried many programs and even straved myself for weeks and still can't get rid of my belly fat for years now.

what is fat burning furnace Is that a meal. Are you sure a meal or did I miss something. I have searched it on Google and it give me all the way looser data . help me in search.

Korrie is right. A lot of times, people just look for easy way out without doing any work. Putting on weight is easy but taking it off is a lot harder.
